25.01.2022 It's award season in Hollywood, so we thought we should get in on the act. The MBA Excellence in Construction Awards recently bestowed honours on two projects we were intricately involved in. Congratulations to Watpac for the Forensic Medicine and Coroners Court Building and to Patterson Building Group for the Opera House Project . Images: MBA NSW

25.01.2022 If the Jetstar strike has left you with some time to kill at the airport, check out our newly installed "arrivals experience" walls at the international terminal.

25.01.2022 While we all work on flattening the curve our workshop seems to be doing nothing but adding curves. More great work by the team. Wishing a safe and happy Easter to all our staff and families. Remember to stay home so the Easter Bunny can find you and we can all return to normal sooner.

25.01.2022 Is there such a thing as "lunch room envy"? How does your workplace kitchen compare to this space at ATP for Commonwealth Bank which includes a sushi train!

25.01.2022 There is no reason public buildings need to be boring. Innovative design ideas combined with skilled craftsmanship can enliven the most sombre of spaces. The new NSW Forensic Pathology & Coroners Court building is a great example of modern, functional design. It also continues H.Dallas involvement with the legal sector. We are very proud of the final product and hope those who work there and the visiting public enjoy the contemporary surrounds. Builder: WATPAC... Architects: COX & STH Project Managers: APP See more

24.01.2022 Our hospitals have been in the news a lot lately. So it’s been nice to help deliver our frontline workers a shiny new facility at Bowral Hospital. Apart from the usual, and some unusual finishes, as a certified solid surface fabricator we also undertook all the Corian works in house. A big thanks to all our workers, in our factory and on site, for working safely throughout the whole Covid-19 crisis and still managing to deliver some fantastic work under unusual circumstances.

23.01.2022 We were going to make timber treats for Easter but realised they wood knot taste any good. #dadjokes Have a happy and safe easter break everyone.

22.01.2022 As we all return to work for another year we would like to pay tribute to the loyal employees who have been returning to work year on year with us at H.Dallas. 10 Years- Glenn Bennet, Jason Byass, Shane McNamara, Nathan Nash 20 Years- Peter Gannon, David Amadio, Bradley Edwards 25 Years- Glynn Powney, Abdul Shameem 30 Years- Stuart Robertson... And that adds to our already 30+ years employees- Peter Watkins, John Whitley, Les Slee, Brad Henville and George Sultana Pretty impressive for our industry, and we think it speaks volumes for our company culture. 21.01.2022 It is with great pleasure that today we announced Brittney Teuma as our Apprentice of the Year. Brittney is currently coming to the end of her 2nd year and it has been a pleasure having her as an employee. All the tradesmen that have mentored her are in agreement that that her main attributes are her ability to listen and quickly learn new skills. Her passion, commitment to her works and initiative are a credit to her and we look forward to washing her progress towards becoming a fully qualified and highly skilled tradesperson. Congratulations Brittney form all at Dallas.

21.01.2022 There is an old saying, "Difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer." Despite our best efforts, the 60 Martin Place project has been one of the more challenging projects in our 40 year history. Regardless of the number of obstacles placed in our way, we have managed to turn out some exceptional joinery under some very trying conditions. We are not 100% complete yet but we are getting very close. Thanks and congratulations should go to everyone involved.

20.01.2022 It seems we are unwittingly "on trend". As we batten down the hatches for Covid19 it appears that battens are the order of the day in our factory. As Construction is deemed an essential service we are still working away, but we are practicing social distancing and have implemented additional hygiene measures in our factory and on sites and hope all our employees stay safe and well and hope that together we all come out the other side of this in one piece.

20.01.2022 We are really stepping up production on these blackbutt and Vic ash stairs for 60 Martin Place. We reckon it will take the look of the building to a whole new level.

20.01.2022 Would you like a double shot of curves with your espresso? These laminated timber peices are curved in plan and in section and are just some of the intricately shaped parts of the enormous coffe counter we are currently fabricating.

20.01.2022 Every castle needs a throne, or in the case of Castle Towers a few hundred of them. Some elaborate and complex seating/ planter elements are in production and some already on site. These items consist of laminate, fabric, stone, custom laminate and fabrics, solid timber and metal finishes. We look forward to showing you finished photos from site very soon.

18.01.2022 From benchtop to worksite, these 17m tall colums are really starting to take shape and looking mighty impressive.

18.01.2022 We had a special visitor in this week for work experience. Eddie tried his hand at every aspect of Dallas' working day and it certainly looks like he worked hard and really earned his post work refreshment. We would love to have him back next year but apparently his real love is toy making.

17.01.2022 While it may look like our skilled Corian fabricators are behind a bar, it is actually the counter which is going behind bars. This will be the new visits counter at Bathurst Prison.

15.01.2022 Wishing all the staff, families and friends of H.Dallas a very merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. We hope to see you all back safe, well and refreshed for another year of amazing projects in 2020.

14.01.2022 Our talented crew are really flying through this massive counter, so we thought we would do the same.

12.01.2022 Well the fat lady has well and truly sung on the construction phase of the Sydney Coliseum, Sydney’s newest multi-mode theatre. The 2000 seat theatre in Sydney’s West has 3 foyers, 7 bars and can accommodate theatrical performances, corporate events, conferences and more. Our contribution to this stunning interior came in many forms including the bars, foyer seating, dressing room joinery and the elaborately shaped balcony edge. (Seen in the last photo) Great work team.

12.01.2022 Dubbed "Western Sydney's Opera House", the new Sydney Colisuem is about to open. While it may not have the history of the Opera House, it certainly rivals the grand old building in its level of style and finish. Seating, bars and the elaborate balcony edge are just part of our works on this great new building. Once again, congratulations to all our staff for pulling off another tricky project.

12.01.2022 They say beauty is only skin deep and it's what is inside that counts. A sturdy steel structure is the basis for these ACT court benches. Do they look good? You be the judge!

11.01.2022 They say a change is as good as a holiday, and since we can't holiday we thought we could change it up with some residential joinery. It's not something we do often but when we do, we do it with our usual expertise. This is "only" a display suite for multi million dollar apartments. Can you ever have too much *bling*?

11.01.2022 It's a short week, so I'm calling it early. It's hump day!

11.01.2022 A new year brings new faces. We would like to welcome to the H.Dallas family our new apprentices. Jayden Hardie (1st year) Adam Murray (4th year) Emily Thorn (2nd year)

11.01.2022 Sometimes a still photo doesn't do it justice, so here is a quick video showing the scale of the colmns we are installing at 60 Martin Place.

10.01.2022 While home schooling may have been fun for the kids (maybe not so much for the parents) and they may not have wanted to go back to school. Some lucky kids though, got to return to shiny new school buildings, with innovative layouts and natural finishes.

08.01.2022 Our industry is not renowned for staff retention, but at H.Dallas we take pride in the number of long serving employees we have. Eventually though some must move on and today we bid a fond farewell to John Whitley. John has been with H.Dallas for 36 of the companies 39 years and he is finally hanging up his hammer and retiring. John we wish you all the best for many happy years of travelling, and not just to a building site in a Dallas truck.

07.01.2022 Turning straight timber into curved joinery is a complex and laborious process. Our experienced team are enjoying the challenge and the opportunity to utilise their extensive skills. It is indeed a "learning curve". Stay tuned for more progess on this amazing and expansive piece of joinery.

07.01.2022 Wishing all the Dallas staff, family and friends a wonderful Christmas. Remember it wooden be Christmas without a tree #dadjokes Hope you all enjoyed our last day BBQ.

07.01.2022 Given our works in the corrections services here is an appropriate Friday Funny. Several years ago, Andy was sentenced to prison. During his stay, he got along well with the guards and all his fellow inmates. The warden saw that deep down, Andy was a good person and made arrangements for Andy to learn a trade while doing his time. After 3 years, Andy was recognized as one of the best joiners in the local area. Often he would be given a weekend pass to do odd jobs for the citi...zens of the community, and he always reported back to prison before Sunday night was over. The warden was thinking of remodeling his kitchen and in fact had done much of the work himself. But he lacked the skills to build a set of kitchen cupboards and a large counter top which he had promised his wife. So he called Andy into his office and asked him to complete the job for him. But, alas, Andy refused. He told the warden, ''You know, I'd really like to help you but counter fitting is what got me into prison in the first place.'' Have a safe and happy weekend all.

07.01.2022 Some days at work are better than others. Whilst we normally get stuck inside, this week our boys enjoyed some sunny Sydney winter weather to install some outdoor lounges for the new Green Square Aquatic Centre. I think I know where they had their lunch break.

07.01.2022 Council pools have changed a bit since I was a kid. The Gunyama (Green Square) aquatic centre is a great facility for the people of Sydney and we hope to get a few better pics once the cleaners have been through. In the meantime here's a few snaps. Have a safe and fun long weekend everyone.

05.01.2022 A happy and safe New Year to all from us at Dallas. We hope to see you all back safe and well in the new year for a successful 2019.

05.01.2022 Ancient Egyptian architect Imhotep is credited with inventing the column around 2600BC. Since that day architects and engineers have been dreaming up new and exciting ways to use and decorate these essential structural elements. At Dallas we have often been tasked with bringing these dreams to fruition. Here is a prototype section of what will eventually be an 18 metre high column for the iconic 60 Martin Place project.

04.01.2022 With our wide range of skills, we try not to get pigeon holed as a specific type of joiner. But just in case you are wondering, yes, we can make a pretty good pigeon hole unit too.

04.01.2022 Well the fat lady has well and truly sung on the construction phase of the Sydney Coliseum, Sydneys newest multi-mode theatre. The 2000 seat theatre in Sydneys West has 3 foyers, 7 bars and can accommodate theatrical performances, corporate events, conferences and more. Our contribution to this stunning interior came in many forms including the bars, foyer seating, dressing room joinery and the elaborately shaped balcony edge. (Seen in the last photo) Great work team.

03.01.2022 We like to use this page to showcase some of the great joinery we do. But we also do some rubbish joinery.... which still looks good.

02.01.2022 At H.Dallas we stand behind everything we make and will happily warrant our workmanship for the life of the product. So if you are doing a lazy 10-15 years in Wellington Jail, give us a bell when you get out and let us know how the joinery is holding up. Stainless benching by Nitro Stainless

02.01.2022 Timber! Stay tuned as we show you how we transform a few hundred metres or 200x 40 blackbutt into a counter for the new HQ of one of Australias "Big 4". Which bank? Well you will have to wait and see!

02.01.2022 A mammoth effort from production in the last few weeks, and our site installers up until 11 pm last night saw us get across the line in time for the Premier to open the new Metro Rail access and food court at Castle Towers. The builder and client are very impressed with Dallas' commitment to what was a difficult and time critical project. They were also blown away by the the quality of the joinery that we have delivered for their project. Well done everyone.

01.01.2022 primo: adjective, meaning of top quality or importance. We believe most of our joinery is "primo" but in this case it literally is. We have recently installed joinery into the refurbished Primo Smallgoods offices in Chullora. Interestingly, this joinery replaced the original joinery we installed over 20 years ago, which was still functional but bore a slightly dated colour scheme. (more photos to come)
