25.01.2022 Unlike many retailers, our response to Covid-19 has actually resulted in a larger team! We are very pleased to have appointed four new staff over the past few weeks. From left to right, we'd like to introduce Bailey, Trevor, Peter & Michael. Three of these staff will be based at the Trade Counter while Peter joins our retail operations. These guys have a range of different backgrounds and expertise across the hardware sector and, with these extra sets of hands and industry kn...owledge, they'll allow us to serve you even more quickly and accurately! Please say hello when you are next in store.

23.01.2022 Thanks again to everyone for entering our recent she wear australia competition. It would be wonderful if we could give everyone who liked, shared or nominated someone a free pair of shoes however, as the saying goes, there can only be one winner and our GM, Renee Haynes has chosen Renae Currie of Maitland. 20.01.2022 H&D is very proud to be supporting the Mark Hughes Foundation with its fundraising efforts in 2020. Beanies for Brain Cancer are now on sale in our store. The two adult sizes (Leopard Print & Black) are $25 each and the kids beanies are $20. These beanies generate funds for a great cause and they sell out every year so give us a shout if you want one!

20.01.2022 Some big changes are coming to H&D ... anyone who has been into the store over the past six weeks will have noticed we're starting to consolidate some stock and relocate sections. Closer to the New Year you will see even more changes which will improve the customer experience in our business. We're aiming to make things easier (more relevant, convenient and faster) for our very valued and loyal customers. Another very important step in this process is updating the 'look' of our business. This process commenced this week with preparation works for the repainting of our premises. Stay tuned for further updates as we ramp up the changes!

07.01.2022 Did you know we own and operate a timber mill? It's located next to our hardware store and trade centre in Heatherbrae and is managed by master woodworker and expert in all things timber, Darrell Haynes. For over 40 years Darrell and his team have produced a range of specialty timber products. We're especially proficient at designing and constructing bespoke pallets and gluts for shipping and logistics however, we can make just about anything from timber. For example ... we... were recently asked to make some clapping sticks for CleverPatch, one of Australia's largest suppliers of art and craft materials to teachers, educators and parents across Australia. The first 250 sets were delivered on Tuesday. Next year we will be supplying Cleverpatch with two different sizes of clapping sticks and are in talks about producing other timber products in their range. Like we said, if it's made from wood, we can make it!
