18.01.2022 "We live under the impression that in order for something to be divine it has to be perfect. We are mistaken. In fact, the opposite is true. To be divine is to be whole and to be whole is to be everything: the positive and the negative, the good and the bad, the holy man and the devil. When we take the time to discover our shadow and its gifts we will understand what Jung meant by, "The gold is in the dark." Raised as a christian, self-hate for my natural self was well & truly ingrained into me - God is love, and humans are unworthy sinners. As I walked my new path of "spiritual awakenings" when I was 28, I learned that I needed to love myself & started practising that. It was an improvement however I still tried to rid myself of parts of me that I didn't like &/or thought wasn't fitting for "spiritual" living. It wasn't 'til my late 30's that I started truly grasping the above. With guidance I learned to see the gifts in the parts of me that I thought were "bad or wrong"... and they made sense to me, then they were easy to finally accept & like. In doing so I had freed up the massive amount of energy I was using in order to suppress/disown big chunks of ME... with that free to flow I felt empowered and a whole lot closer to whole. I felt comfortable & safe being me, I felt REAL... I am authentically me and that feels pretty awesome! Mauri Ora!
