07.01.2022 Do you find yourself always saying sorry? I do! I say sorry to friends, family, neighbours, strangers, animals, even furniture and objects Its not a genuine Im sorry for my actions, behaviour, or for hurting or upsetting you, but more a habit or reaction ... when a sorry is absolutely not necessary or expected. Rather than a remorseful apology, my sorrys are involuntary and quite frankly, starting to annoy me and probably others. What is bothering me the most is now my kids are starting to do it. Whether its learnt behaviour or for similar reasons as me, Im not sure. Either way, I decided to do some research. Apparently excessive apologising or sorry syndrome is often due to anxiety, feelings of inadequacy or failure, or wanting to confirm or avoid confrontation. Hhhmmmm. None of these are cool!! So, how can I help myself and my kids? pause before I think I might say sorry turn a sorry into a thank you be ok with saying no use positive thinking such as, I am enough, I am worthy, I am valued create an action such as a click my fingers, pinch my ear, flick my hair band on my wrist, when I think I might say sorry or catch myself saying, sorry encourage my kids that a sorry isnt necessary after certain apologies and explain why draw or write about a sorry monster and discuss Lets hope that my awareness and now attention, can decrease the amount of times I say sorry and support my kids with this too #imsorry #sorrynotsorry #sorrysyndrome #letschangeit #mindfulness #headandheartmindfulness

05.01.2022 In our new product, 5 MINDFUL MINUTES, we have themed days for our mindfulness videos. From the beginning we wanted to include all aspects of mindfulness, meditation, heartfulness and positive thinking. With each day, each video is based around one mindfulness activity:... Meditation Monday - focus on relaxing the mind and body with a guided visualisation. Kind & Caring Tuesday - focus on all heartfelt emotions of kindness, compassion and generosity. Mindful Moment Wednesday - focus on the five senses of sight, sound, touch, taste and smell to tune into the moment. Thankful Thursday - focus on feeling grateful for people, places and things. Feel Good Friday - focus on moving the body with mindful stretches. We start every video with mindful breathing and finish with positive thinking. These videos are all about encouraging kids to make mindfulness a habit. We want all children to have the mindfulness tools to positively express their feelings, self regulate their emotions and improve their concentration.
