15.01.2022 MIDDLE HEAD IS AGAIN UNDER THREAT FROM NEW COMMERCIALISATION Middle Head and other foreshore lands, given to the Australian people, are carefully managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and protected by law. BUT the Federal Government is sneaking through a review of the Trust without proper scrutiny and consultation with the community. Existing heritage and environmental protections must remain. Lands should not be handed to the NSW Government or local councils. There ...should be no alienation of public land. Read more https://www.hpg.org.au

Have any promises or deals been made? Have your say, register and attend the new forum on 18 February, 6 pm - 8 pm (see link below)... Local residents are concerned that legislative changes to the Trust Act will result in a loss of protection of all Trust sites including Middle Head. In Sussan Leys Statement of Expectations she says she expects attention be given to "developing commercial strategies for Trust sites to maximise revenue" and "to seek opportunities to partner, and share costs, with private and philanthropic entities for the rehabilitation and ongoing management of Trust sites." https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/independent-review-of-the-s Image: map of Harbour Trust sites from Independent review of the Sydney Harbour Federation TrustPublic consultation paper, Commonwealth of Australia 2019.

06.01.2022 10 TERMINAL SITE IN HEADLAND PARK REQUIRES URGENT FUNDING In 2001 at the time of the formation of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, 10 Terminal, the largest building in Headland Park, was handed to the Trust in excellent condition. Since then it has been left to deteriorate due to the failure or inability of the Trust to maintain and repair the buildings. The Trust has not been able to find an appropriate adaptive re-use for the premises.

05.01.2022 HEADLAND PRESERVATION GROUP NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT The Headland Preservation Group (HPG) was formed 23 years ago to save Sydney Foreshore Defence Department lands from sale to developers. The result was the formation of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust (the Trust) to preserve the natural and built heritage of these unique lands for all Australians. HPG was reactivated in 2013 and successfully defeated a large commercial development for a private residential aged care complex ...on the Ten Terminal site on Middle Head. HPG works hard to ensure the Trust and politicians remain true to the original vision and protect these lands from inappropriate development. We need your support.
