23.01.2022 Happy Halloween

20.01.2022 Some nice new Slow Pitch blanks rolled up this arvo , ready for me to build up. PE 1,1.5 & 2 that are hard core in their actions. Composite materials are used in the layup for these blanks and shines through in their actions. The blanks are just the right length @ 6.3" for their purpose. They are all scary cool with the PE 1 having a jig rating of up to 200g and can lift 7kg off of the deck with ease shows how hard she rocks. Cheers LJ,... Im stoked

16.01.2022 Match the hatch. How mad do these look and being WCP you know they are going to swim.

15.01.2022 Hey folks, A good mate of mine in the South West has just started out in the jig manufacturing game and has started " Loose Cannon tackle". Specialising in the slow pitch jigging scene his jigs are second to none in quality and effectiveness. If you are into jigging and or want to give it a crack contact Loose Cannon Tackle. Gregg

15.01.2022 Trout LOVE the jigs and I love catching trout. These fish were taken on my absolute favourite slow pitch jig - Xesta Slow Flap 150 in the best colour of all time - PINK. I get scared pulling this jig out in the Pilbara as the taxman is always around the corner, waiting when you least expect it and these jigs are getting harder to find.... Gregg

14.01.2022 Videographer Jared Chasteen got some great footage of the Venice, Louisiana-based charter boat, Kimmi wrangling some nice bluefin tuna on stand-up in the Gulf of Mexico.

07.01.2022 PARROT FISH ARE IMPORTANT!! i feel sorry for the parrot fishes! Yes this fish can be eaten, but for us divers this is a big No No!!! There are important reasons... why we should not eat them and we should educate the fishermen to stop catching these beautiful fish! Please do spare them ... the ocean needs them to regenerate. Read below to be educated. They're lots of fish you can catch in the sea. They can sell and cook the other fish, but leave the parrot fish! Here is why: (c&p from the web) Parrotfish eat algae and dead coral*. They spend up to 90% of their day nibbling. In other words, they clean the reef. This is important because most of the reefs across the tropics are being smothered by algae because there are not enough parrotfish and other herbivores out there grazing. After all that eating, get this: They poop fine white sand lots of it! Each parrotfish produces up to 320 kilograms (700 pounds) of sand each year. Their numbers are so depleted, and algae levels are so high, that they cannot be fished sustainably right now anywhere in the Caribbean. These flamboyant, algae-eating, sand-pooping fish need to be left in the water. And when they are left to chomp away, they do a brilliant job. A massive new report concludes that reefs where parrotfish were abundant in the 1980s are the reefs that are healthy now. There is a reason for their existence so please let's not eat them ... To our Govt. Please educate our fishermen... Say no to catching parrot fish! Let's not buy parrot fish so they won't catch them anymore. Please share..

03.01.2022 I headed out from Cape Lambert with Justo and crew for a day of slow pitch jigging. The day started of hectic as the first spot we fished lit up with fish on the sounder. Multiple hook ups as soon as the steel hit the bottom with all fish lost to sharks. We kept on moving and fishing multiple spots to try and avoid the sharks and ended up bagging out in a couple of hours. Justo hooked what we thought was the Codfather and fought the fish for over half an hour until finally we got a glimpse of it. What we thought was a Cod ended up being a big shark and to his credit he destroyed it on PE 2. A mad days fishing with so many fish caught on the jigs in idyllic conditions. Living the dream in the Pilbara :)
