24.01.2022 Alex is an incredibly smart and lovely professional working in Digital Transformation. She has been nominated (and shortlisted) for an award and needed a new headshot to celebrate! Alex is an absolute dynamo and we had a lot of fun in this session - it helps that we have been friends for ever, with connections through the film industry for such a long time. I cannot tell you what a treat it was to work with this exceptional human in the studio :)xx

24.01.2022 I've just finished editing these headshots and thought I'd share this screenshot. Can we play a guessing game? These lovely people are from a company in Adelaide (with an interstate office as well). Just for a bit of fun, wanna have a guess what they do?

24.01.2022 Hamish is back from the U.S, hanging in Adelaide during Covid and using this time to get things cracking back home. This young man is awesome - he brought in some of his fave finds from his 'thrifting' expeditions and we explored a few different looks for his folio. What a dude - a seriously great guy looking forward to exciting times ahead...

24.01.2022 This is Cam - he is a lawyer in digital entertainment and media. "We spend most of our time working with people who live and breathe pixels and data. We offer practical business solutions and legal advice for creative companies who work in the digital space". Cam needed fresh new headshots for his new website and LinkedIn etc - it was brilliant to catch up with him in the studio - we worked together years ago (decades maybe?) when he was at the SA Film Corporation and it was amazing to catch up again after all these years. We have both maintained our work in the screen industry but somehow managed to not cross paths again until now. I love getting a chance to spend quality time with quality people like this!

23.01.2022 This is Luke, an aspiring actor who had the sense to come in to get his headshots before applying to enrol in formal tertiary training. These headshot sessions are actually a solid training ground in how to handle a studio environment and how to engage confidently with the camera - essential skills for any performer. Luke did such an amazing job in his session and we all need to keep our fingers and toes crossed for him as he begins his application process for the first big step on his career dream pathway!

21.01.2022 The incredible Alexandra - honestly, every time she graces my studio I know I'm in for a really fun and relaxed shoot, and some fab results. Her agent says you can't take a bad picture of her and it's true! She is an absolute professional, and the loveliest of humans! Hair & makeup by the excellent Sue Taylor.

20.01.2022 Julia's headshots! Julia is an acting graduate at the amazing Flinders Drama Centre. I love the way her attitude ramps up very subtly from image 1 to image 3 here. I am a big fan of softly blended expressions - partial expressions that are nuanced enough to not have an obvious emotion attached to them. Maybe in this first image we may assume she is a tad bored, but at the same time there is definitely (in my mind) an attitude here. It's an effortless gaze, slightly defiant an...d without apology. I love expressions like this because they are so subtle and uncontrived. She seems a tad more friendly in the second image, but is she? It's quite cool for a warm-ish expression, and I love this (yes she is friendly by the way!) It's hard to read. The third image is laced with a cool attitude which is unapologetic and a bit sassy. Do we have big smiles available from her shoot? Yes we do! But these are her faves and I think each one works well to showcase her look as an emerging actor. It's nice to know that if she needs a more expressive expression down the track, we have loads in the can, as you can see in the video. These were all shot in 100% natural light in studio 2 at @cogcreativespace. See more

20.01.2022 Aarod is one of the incredible and wonderful graduates at Flinders Drama Centre and I'm just about to head off to shoot their graduating show and I CANNOT WAIT to see him perform. We had such a fun shoot for his headshots, and you can see here how lovely and engaging and interesting he is. I will report back on how the show goes but I just wanted to share these before heading out - I love Aarod's headshots and hopefully you get a glimpse here into his awesomeness...

19.01.2022 Ren is a class of '20 graduate from Flinders Drama Centre. I'm not sure I've ever met a nicer person - seriously, she is a completely delightful person, absolutely bubbling with personality and loveliness. She is also very driven to make it in this crazy world, so if you are looking for an actor with Ren's vibe I seriously consider you get her in for casting. Not only would she do a perfect job as a well-rounded professional actor with years of training, she would bring such light to the set it would make everyone else shine too. What a treat it was to shoot these 100% natural light headshots for Ren. :)

19.01.2022 This guy...:) Christopher is a local actor and we have crossed paths many times on set and around town, so it was brilliant to get him back in the studio for some updated headshots. I think our last studio shoot together was over 10 years ago? Anyway, so much fun and it was excellent to hang out with him. Time are tough for actors, as they are for many creatives, and it's amazing to see actors getting sh*t done in the down time, despite the conditions out there; getting themselves on the front foot as the industry picks itself up. Yes! Let's do this Australia - Chris is awesome and ready for a lead role...just putting it out there.

17.01.2022 This is a little sentimental - I dragged my dearest friend and her family in to the studio on the way to the airport - as they were leaving Australia to go back to Norway. Now that we are so far apart it is ever so special to have these pictures of our 2 families together. OK so maybe I have been planning to get to Norway for the past 20 years (OMG) but now that travel is so limited I want to get there even more desperately! Miss you guys...looking forward to us all being together again soon :)xx

17.01.2022 Well well, I never have shots of me as I am always behind the camera but this time the excellent @marcusbosisto gaffer extraordinaire sent me this photo. Thanks Marcus - not only for the photo but also for the ladder in this shot - it's hard to get a massive crew photo from my standard vantage point! This was taken on a station out in the Flinders Ranges before lockdown when we were out there shooting a #featurefilm. I miss being out on set!

14.01.2022 It's great to see some of the stills I shot on this lovely feature film getting an outing at the recent #adelaidefilmfestival. This film has such a wonderful cast and it was an amazing treat to be at the recent Premiere and fabulous after-party. Extra special to catch up with the young lead 'Savino' (Michael Crisafulli) who was just a boy when we shot the film a few years ago, and is now a lovely young man. Congratulations to the team for pulling the film together to be celebrated during the festival - and aren't we ever so lucky to have had a film festival at all in 2020! Well done to the producers Anna, Hilton, Timothy, Stewart, Anna & Louise! (these are screen shots from the film festival web page, but I hope to show some more stills soon).

One of the recent graduates from Flinders University's Drama Centre and an absolute dream to work with :) We had some fun with some of my lovely and moody textured backdrops and my stunning blue doors - 100% natural light outdoors-ish in studio 2 @cogcreativespace.

09.01.2022 Chantale is an executive who needed a headshot for an annual report - she dropped in recently and opted in for a classic-look pampering by Sue Taylor who did a beautiful job with her hair and makeup - natural and effortless. Chantale was brilliant to work with, super professional and lots of fun; she made my job so easy - and Sue was amazing on set to help manage those beautiful locks. I'm not sure which shot will end up in the Annual Report but #1 is my fave because of her genuine smile and warmth. #2 is more corporate I guess, and comes across as professional and organised but still approachable. I love the nuances of expression and tone and how much they impact the feeling of the images!

08.01.2022 Meet Narelle - she is a super busy Surgical Device Sales & Clinical Support professional in the medical industry, and dropped in to the studio to get her corporate headshots done. She was just wonderful to work with - and I think you would agree that you can see here just how friendly, approachable, professional and interesting she looks. How I love my job! :)

She's in the process of developing a new website for her accounting practice and dropped in for some fresh new headshots so that her clients can put a face to the name. 08.01.2022 Talei came in to the studio for some corporate headshots for a magazine article - we shot some standard headshots (classic white and grey backgrounds) but you'll see I shot some of these a little wider to shift into a more editorial-style portrait. I love including the gesture in the frame - it impacts on the headshot so I always direct the whole body anyway, but with Talei it was great to know the wider frame could be useful. We had an awesome shoot and she was just brilliant - and Sue Taylor did a glorious job with hair and makeup, seriously fab!

07.01.2022 These are 3 new recruits at Hydroplan in Adelaide! Say hello and wish them well in their exciting new jobs. From what I can tell they have to be very smart indeed!

05.01.2022 Would you believe that I searched for quite a while to find this lovely location for Jeremy's portrait. The brief was a natural environment, preferably native. I looked in the Adelaide parklands near my studio and couldn't find the right vibe. In the end I had to drag him all the way out to the hills on this sweet dirt road next to a very smelly farm (goats I think). He cut quite the figure in his suit in this environment. This was so much fun and in the end, despite the lure of working with natural light, I lit this with a single Godox AD600 in a very large softbox, which I needed because it was a bright sunny day and he was backlit. Anyway, that's the story behind this simple profile picture.. :)

05.01.2022 I always love working with the beautiful people at @mackbelfilms. First of all, these are the loveliest of humans! Then there's their incredible diligence and organisation - Bel is excellent and I love her detailed briefs with reference images and lovely schedules. I've worked with Mackbel for a few years on film & TV projects - and more recently doing the commercial photography for their clients. They are exceptional at business branding and helping their clients tell their story. They have just updated their website so we did these images to illustrate their site and tell their story. 04.01.2022 This is the gorgeous Alexandra - she is an actor and voice artist extraordinaire! SUCH an incredible woman; full of awesomeness. I love working with artists like Ali - she is so authentic and so genuine and smart and fun and interesting. It was great to get some headshots as well as shots for her new website. You'll see I've played with a couple of different background colours for the voice artist pic - whilst she'll probably use the B&W options for the website I just love these tones... (hmu by the fabulous Sue Taylor)

02.01.2022 Meet the wonderful Jennifer! We had such fun in the studio getting her some fresh new headshots for a variety of upcoming opportunities. What a vibrant and interesting woman - wowee! We kept it simple with the standard and sophisticated white and grey backgrounds, and if you have a look through at the variety here, you'll see that with just a few changes in outfit we have a lovely range that she can use for all sorts of things. 02.01.2022 It's been an amazing gig, really. During the Covid-lockdown I had the fabulous job of updating the images for the #cityofunley website. It was exceptional timing in terms of being able to work out about about (and get out of the house), and getting suitably #sociallydistanced images where people were involved. I loved this job so much - flexing my landscape and street photography muscles at the same time as working with people in a broad variety of ways. Have a look here at the variety I got to explore - and that's just a small slice of it. So fun! It's great to see the images used on the website to illustrate all the different services the council offers, and find ways of expressing services, community and culture visually. #bestjob! #urbanlife

02.01.2022 It's so great to see this campaign out and about on the streets of SA. I shot these images for the lovely people at WDM Advertising for SA Health's Drug and Alcohol Services SA. It was wonderful to work with people from SA's First Nation community to capture the importance of family, connection and culture. Anyone seen these images out there? I have not been able to get any shots of the bus campaign as I only ever see them when I'm driving, but it is so lovely to see the images out there. It's an important message so hopefully it gets traction and makes a difference. :)

01.01.2022 Now those of you who have been paying attention will already know that this is Jeremy. This was the studio version of our profile shoot. He needed a range of headshots / profile portraits for a new website and other secret squirrel things, and I absolutely loved working with him to achieve these looks. His location shot is probably my favourite, but these add diversity to the inevitable demands for profile shots that will be required in his work.
