24.01.2022 Thank-you to representatives from the Mackay Regional Council, Central Queensland University, ATSICHS and Northern Australia Primary Health Limited for attending the headspace Mackay Consortium Meeting today. Looking forward to continuing with collaborating between organisations and increasing the visibility of local services.

23.01.2022 Today we worked along side our Sarina Youth Centre partners and Youth Reference Group members to deliver headspace and Yarn Safe literature and wrist bands. This was a great opportunity to meet lots of the community’s young people in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. If you are an Indigenous young person who has a lot going on and is constantly worrying, please visit www.yarnsafe.org.au to find more information on the support available. There is no shame in talking it out. headspace is your space. A big thanks to Mudth-Niyleta for inviting us and creating such a wonderful event.

13.01.2022 This month, we have been very busy in the Whitsunday community promoting headspace and meeting with young people. On the 11th of September we were invited to participate in a wellbeing day at the Proserpine High School. This was a wonderful event which allowed us to hand out over 500 e-headspace and information booklets to young people. This event was planned by the high school with support from our headspace Whitsundays Youth Reference Group members. Congratulations to everyone involved for a great event!

11.01.2022 headspace Sarina Youth Reference Group members Devante and PJ, have been working hard to design the new Sarina satellite service which is being rolled out by the end of the year. The young people from Sarina have been involved in each step of the process to make sure that our new facility is youth friendly, welcoming and embraced by the community. These guys have been doing an amazing job and we are sure you are going to love the designs they come up with.

10.01.2022 We were very fortunate to have been invited to take part in the NAIDOC Celebrations in Sarina yesterday. As we edge closer to having our headspace Sarina Satellite up and running in the new year, this was a great opportunity to meet more of the community and other service providers. headspace Sarina is proud to partner with Mudth-Niyleta and is looking forward to building strong connections with our First Nation’s People. Along with our headspace service, we were able to showcase the wonderful and varied services also offered by NAPHL (Northern Australia Primary Health Limited) and ITC (Integrated Team Care). 08.01.2022 The headspace team at Mackay’s Inaugural Pride Event! Many local organisations came together to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community as well as people looking for information about mental health services. The march across Forgan bridge was well attended and enjoyed. headspace Mackay is looking forward to supporting more Pride events in the future.
