Are you looking for an opportunity to help promote positive mental health and encourage early help seeking? TAYhYA is a unique peer based program. Our volunteers attend secondary schools and sports clubs to facilitate interactive mental health workshops. Ambassadors also attend schools during lunchtime and host a range of activities to students. The program also includes in-house orientation ‘client meet and greet’ sessions with new young people who are referred to headspace centres for counselling. Ambassadors welcome clients to the service by providing an overview of what to expect at headspace, a tour of the centre, introduce our group program and provide helpful tips and resources to use between appointments. 17.01.2022 Last night we were grateful to support our lead agency, Sonder, in their delivery of their Continuing Professional Development training: Psychosis and young people: Assessment, intervention and treatment. Staff from our headspace Adelaide clinical team were able to give an overview of our service and discuss why early intervention in the treatment of psychosis is important. We also heard from one of our Youth Reference Group members as they shared their story of utilising our service. It was a powerful night and great to connect with healthcare professionals. 13.01.2022 October is Mental Health Month! This month we are exploring #musicthatmatters, highlighting tunes that share important messages about our mental health. Going along with this theme, we are excited to announce registrations are now open for EQUALISER 2021! ... Facilitated by Music SA, EQUALISER is a 6 week program for female identifying and non-binary young people aged 18-25 to connect, share and create with each other under the mentorship of local female music industry practitioners to produce an original song and music video. The participants final creation, along with a short documentary that uncovers the program’s process will be unveiled at the 2021 UNESCO global conference. The program is completely free and places are limited, so we encourage you to not delay in submitting an application. 03.01.2022 Meet our Clinic Nurse, Mandy We wanted to give a special shout out to Mandy who won the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation’s Student of the Year Award! Mandy has been a part of the headspace team for several years, during which she worked to complete her Enrolled Nurse Diploma (END) and Bachelor of Nursing. Throughout her degree she received outstanding grades, supported her family as the sole care giver and worked at our centre. She shows a clear dedication to pr...oviding supportive care to young people who come through our centre. We are so proud and grateful to have Mandy on our team!

02.01.2022 Our Youth Reference Group met up over Zoom and in-person earlier this week. 2020 has thrown a lot of challenges for our volunteers, so it was good to get together and focus on our recent experiences and translating these into some exciting projects coming up this month for Mental Health Week/Month and headspace Day.
