Sometimes even that you just can't deal with life today? That's your mental health saying I'm struggling here!... Sleep is closely linked with depression so here are some little tips to get a good nights sleep. 25.01.2022 Maintaining healthy habits over the Christmas period is important because not only does it change your mood making you feel happier and less stressed it also makes your body feel less lethargic and sluggish. It also keeps those good routines and habits running into the new year. Those good routines can make the transition back into normal life so much easier and your mind and body will thank you for it!

19.01.2022 Tip # 6! Have an emergency plan in place Over the holidays it's meant to be a time for food and socialising! We don't really think about the things that could go wrong during that time because we are too busy focusing on everything else and everyone else. Whether it be for your mental health or your physical health, it's handy to have some services saved into your contacts list which saves time googling a suitable service for yourself. It also pays to find out which ones are open during this time because many places close down over Christmas, so have some back ups and do the research before hand

13.01.2022 So proud of one of our YRG members who got up and shared his amazing experiences with headspace Armadale and his journey. Well done and best of luck for the future endeavors! Saturday gave way to an amazing event organised by headspace Fremantle. The WAhsYC event where YRG members attended from all over Australia (or at least those who could travel) to join together in a networking forum and meet one another, partake in some workshops and listen to some amazing stories from other YRG members. Such a great opportunity to continue connecting young people and meeting those from other centres :)

12.01.2022 Setting Boundaries FREE ONLINE EVENT presented as part of the Youth Week WA Kickstart Festival 2021... We all have limits, and that’s okay! Boundaries can help us be clear about what we are comfortable with and how we want to be treated by others. Having healthy boundaries doesn’t make us selfish or mean, it can actually be the opposite. They help us to be our best selves, so that we can show up for the people who matter. While boundaries can be challenging to navigate, communicating them is essential for our mental health, wellbeing, and safety. Join headspace and a Youth Reference Group member to learn how to recognise, honour and talk about your boundaries. When: Monday 12th of April, 11am - 12pm Register your attendance: http://bit.ly/settingboudaries Find out more: propel.org.au/kickstart

03.01.2022 Not long now and a crazy year has gone by! Right now people are rushing around trying to organize Christmas and the holidays which can be stressful and overwhelming. Sometimes we have so many events to attend that we find ourselves double booked or attending multiple on the same day, but remember we don't have to be everywhere all the time. Take some time for yourself and be picky where you spend your time.

03.01.2022 Monday's can seem a bit manic, rushing to get to work or to school or to the gym from the weekend. Some of us even find it just plain difficult to get moving. Always make sure if you have had a rushed day, take that short time when you get home to breathe and let your mind unwind, even if it's only 20 minutes. 68% of people world wide don't get enough rest and this can significantly impact our mental health by increasing the risk of stress, anxiety and depression. Work some ...me time into your day and see the difference :) Your brain needs a break too!
