21.01.2022 Albert Namatjira (born Elea Namatjira; 28 July 1902 8 August 1959) was the first Indigenous person to be granted Australian citizenship in 1957, giving him the right to vote, have limited land rights and buy alcohol. A celebrated watercolour artist, he dedicated much of his life to raising awareness of the social injustices imposed on Indigenous communities. He became a household name in Australia and reproductions of his works hung in many homes throughout the nation. In 1...956 his portrait (featured in this post), by William Dargie, became the first of an Aboriginal person to win the Archibald Prize. He was an Australian bantamweight boxer, the first Indigenous Australian to win a world title. It is about creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show LGBTQIA+ young people that they are seen and supported.... 17.01.2022 https://www.instagram.com/tv/CFtDXUVDb_Z/ Thai Chilli Chicken 500g Chicken tenderloins... 2 tablespoon oil 1 medium brown onion 2 tablespoon finely chopped small fresh red chillies 1 cup fresh basil shredded 2 tablespoon fish sauce 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander root 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 cup of coconut cream 1 cup white rice, boiled, to serve Method: Remove fat from chicken, cut into 1 cm strips. Heat oil in a wok, or frying pan; add onion and chillies; stir-fry until onion is soft. Add chicken; stir-fry until chicken is tender. Add basil, fish sauce, chopped coriander and sugar, stir-fry for 1 minute. Add coconut cream; stir mixture until heated through. Serve hot immediately with rice.

17.01.2022 Psychosis is an experience where a person has problems interpreting the world around them. They might see or hear things that other people can’t, or have unusual ideas or beliefs. It can be frightening but it can be treated. The earlier psychosis is diagnosed, and a young person receives support, the sooner they can get back to leading the life they choose. 10.01.2022 Marion Leane Smith (18911957) is the only Aboriginal Australian woman known to have served in the First World War. Smith served with the No. 41 Ambulance Train in France. The ambulance trains were designated to transport injured soldiers from the front lines to military hospitals and were known to be difficult environments in which to work. Smith distinguished herself; her supervisor noted that "Her work is both quickly and efficiently done. 07.01.2022 Neville Thomas Bonner AO (28 March 1922 5 February 1999) was an Australian politician, and the first Aboriginal Australian to become a member of the Parliament of Australia. In 1979 Bonner was jointly named Australian of the Year. The November dates follow the decision by the National NAIDOC Committee (NNC) to postpone NAIDOC Week from the original July dates due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across our communities and cities. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
