23.01.2022 Guess what??? Headspace Day is coming up this Wednesday 21st of October! To celebrate, headspace Taringa have very kindly extended their invite to young people of Redcliffe and surrounds to join in a virtual afternoon of fun with Sellma! The glorious and inimitable Sellma Soul is coming to headspace to teach you how to "Paint Your Inner Amazing!". headspace Day is Wednesday 21 October and at 3pm Sellma is running a cheeky online painting workshop together with Cork & Chroma'...s Hillary Wall via Zoom. You don't need to have paint or a canvas, all you'll need is something that makes colour and something to smoosh it on. We're streaming this via Zoom and there's a 100 person limit so click on the link 5 minutes early to secure your place. We look forward to seeing you there! https://zoom.us/j/3860614755... Sellma Soul (she/her - they/them) is Brisbane’s most eccentric drag queen. Recently bursting onto national television, Sellma has introduced herself as the queen of the big, bald, beautiful and weird. In 2011 she interned with harvest rain (now Hayward studios) where she first got a taste for musical theatre and she slowly slipped down that glorious dirty and accepting slope of cabaret where she discovered all things alternative. Well the rest is trash and sprinkles of high glamour...

19.01.2022 Ever wondered what being mentally healthy actually means? To explain this, it’s helpful to think about mental health on a spectrum. At one end of the spectrum is mentally healthy. In this area you feel able to work and study, feel connected to others, be involved in activities in your community and ‘bounce back’ when life’s changes and challenges come along. ... At the other end of the spectrum is mental illness. Mental illness is a general term that refers to a group of conditions, such as anxiety, depression or eating disorders. These conditions can significantly affect how a person feels, thinks, behaves and interacts with others. Almost half of the population will experience a mental illness at some point in their lives. In between these two ends there is a ‘coping area’, where people might feel some pressure but are doing OK, and a ‘difficulties area’ where people might feel like they aren’t doing so well. It’s important to know that everyone sits somewhere on this spectrum, and where you are can change from day-to-day or week-to-week, depending on many factors. headspace provide FREE or low cost support services to young people aged 12-25 going through a tough time. Everyone needs support some times, please get in contact to find out how we can help!
