In 2020, the NAIDOC Week theme is ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ a chance to reflect on the history of First Nations peoples and consider what this history means for our community today. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is the oldest living culture on earth NAIDOC Week is a chance to learn about and from First Nations' knowle...dge! At headspace Werribee, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land. headspace Werribee works with young people who live across the lands of the Kulin Nation, and we acknowledge the history, culture and knowledge of Kulin Nation people that has contributed so much to the land we live, work and play on today. We pay respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who will be the Elders of the future. We strive to create a community where young people are recognised for their strengths and feel their culture is valued. Want to know more about First Nations peoples, culture and history? Our friends at headspace Craigieburn have put together some awesome resources to support your learning throughout the week.
