25.01.2022 I first experienced Bowen Therapy 25 yrs ago in Cape Town. I had ongoing lower back pain and had had many years of physio etc etc. A natural therapist introduced me to Bowen Therapy, and my pain & discomfort diminished rapidly. When we moved to Australia in 2004, I found Bowen therapists in my area and also discovered that Bowen therapy originated in Aus!... After several years spent obtaining our PR through running a business here and then getting citizenship ,in 2013 I decided my time had come to branch out into studying Bowen Therapy, a very intriguing healing method.

18.01.2022 It's Spring, and I'm rejoicing in my flowering orchid. Now our winter muscles can begin to stretch and flex as the weather warms. Bowen Therapy can help alleviate aches , pains and stresses accumulated during the winter months and the Covid-19 frustrations.

18.01.2022 This scene shows part of my Bowen therapy treatment room. I love the colour aqua, and used it to create a calm, tranquil space. I choose some prints with quirky African themes, as that is part of my background and creates a relaxed environment and talking point.

16.01.2022 During a Bowen treatment, we work with the client's breath. This allows the body to slow down and relax into a parasympathetic mode where balance and healing occur.

13.01.2022 Why I love Bowen ? Firstly its a bodywork that Works! From: a golfer with a bulging disc, hairdressers with shoulder and neck issues, a client with chewing/jaw pain after dentistry, hay-fever and many sciatic lower back issues- I am just blown away with the powerful healing effects this gentle therapy produces.

10.01.2022 Before I discovered the benefits of Bowen, I trained as a microbiologist in Cape Town. I became interested in Natural therapies when our son became ill with ME at age 10yrs. Eventually he recovered after much investigation, dietary supplements and homeopathy . This sparked my interest in natural therapies. I trained in aromatherapy and reflexology and ran a clinic from my home. Bowen became a passion, when I experienced how the movements could produce far-reaching effects of physical and emotional healing.

08.01.2022 I've been asked if I have brought any earlier learnt skills/lessons into my Bowen world. I have always found the human body fascinating, and am in awe of its ability to heal. Having worked in hospitals, laboratories and then in other natural therapies, I've found that a holistic approach works so well with the simple but dynamic moves in Bowen therapy.
