One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C. But how is the benefit of this technique?... People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. The wet or dynamic suction cup generates a superficial hyperemia in the skin, ie increased circulation in the dermato. The dry or static suction cup generates a "detachment" of the skin, decreasing surface adhesion and stiffness, along with increased mobility. Myths: The technique should not necessarily cause bruising, the practitioner should not leave the suction cup for a long period on the applied region, as it may cause a circulatory decrease effect at the applied site; The suction cup does not eliminate toxins!
