Feel free to contact us. ... Session time: Thursday 9.30-10.30am @ Bald Hills Uniting Church Hall Cant attend a session? We also offer Chair Yoga & private one to one classes via zoom or in person.

21.01.2022 Clearly very excited to be back at our cute little hall, sharing accessible Yoga with the community....and I do eventually stop dancing on the front steps & go inside & teach

19.01.2022 Ive been hanging out a lot in supported shoulder stand (salamba sarvangasana) lately. The addition of the chair takes all the pressure off the neck.

18.01.2022 Off my mat & onto the bike today. Nearly 40km. Not a bad effort for my second ride in 15 years. The Ischial tuberositys are now screaming!

17.01.2022 Lovely surprise in the mail today. All the way from the northern hemisphere to the southern * A little torn, wrinkled & stained but still holding together. Such a metaphor for life I reckon... * Accessible yoga training has been a highlight of my year & Im so grateful for this community * Thank you @jivanaheyman & @accessibleyogatraining

17.01.2022 Hi Im Kim (on the left), thought it was about time to introduce myself. * Im a Yoga teacher living in Brisbane Australia, which Ive called home for 7 years. Im of NZ & USA decent which makes for a very unique accent. ... * Before Yoga, I worked as an RN in mental health, retrained as a Clinical Nutritionist/Herbal therapist & had my own clinic. Im a parent to 2 grown up sons, love dogs, books, birds, trees, music, have a weird sense of humor & questionable dance moves. And a biomechanics geek. * I was diagnosed with post natal depression after I had my kids. But this was changed to treatment resistive clinical depression & complex ptsd. Was acutely unwell for 10 years & treatment consisted of meds, ECT, hospital & therapy. Drs gave little hope of recovery. They hadnt met me tho! And 13 yrs later I remain well & no longer receive treatment. I need to look after myself & times do get tough. Yoga has played a big part in this. * I believe in Yoga being an accessible practice for all. A way to find ourselves again, locate that sense of self & peace, that we sometimes feel weve lost due to trauma, illness & circumstances. * I teach accessible Yoga in the community & chair Yoga at senior centers. Im also a speaker for beyond blue, sharing my story, to reduce the stigma of mental health conditions & encouraging folks to seek help early. * I love supporting those who attend my classes to find their voice, peace, healing, authentic self, & freedom. Its messy, real, no fancy tricks, just real life & learning. * Thanks for being here

17.01.2022 Woohoo!! Its official!! Dancing around my living room as Im so excited. @accessibleyoga @accessibleyogatraining @jivanaheyman

17.01.2022 Ive really struggled using the word prop as I think it has some negatives attached to it. And this can consciously or unconsciously prevent many folks from using them for a variety of reasons. * Using a prop can be thought of as a crutch or something you have to use because you cant do a certain posture. Ive heard many times, if you cant do xyz, just grab a block. So what can happen? We dont use a prop, or if we do, might feel lesser than or not good enough. Dis...rupts our peace, causes harm, causes negative self talk... enough already. * These things are equipment. Lifts the floor, adds extension, safety, awareness, alignment, complements the shape, & theyre awesome. * We dont think lesser of a tennis player that uses the prop of a tennis racket because their hand isnt the right shape to hit the ball. They use equipment. A racket. I know, lame example but you get my meaning. * Every class, every time, everyone gets the same equipment. * We explore, contrast, trust our inner guidance, move with love & acceptance. And there isnt a prop in sight, but equipment everywhere.

14.01.2022 So happy to have received my Gudu Mungulu Sugarbag leggings from @inspireyogadesire @kimberley_yoga_attire They are stunning & have obviously improved my questionable dance moves

14.01.2022 A great read, highly recommend @skillinaction

14.01.2022 Playing around with a mini Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I) mini flow. Changing the orientation of an asana, allows for the posture to be more accessible, while still having the same benefits. Adding a chair can create a sense of safety but that doesnt mean its easy. An added experience would be to close the eyes. Ive sped the video up so make sure you slow it right down, while moving with the breath.

12.01.2022 Tried Savasana with a light weight on the thighs & forehead? This keeps me grounded, allowing for deeper relaxation & more importantly a sense of safety & security.

09.01.2022 Out walking & listening to the brand new Accessible Yoga podcast. Highly recommend. Loved it & it is so nice to hear familiar voices again @amberkarnesofficial @jivanaheyman

08.01.2022 How many times do we stay quiet, be small, try not to take up space, be still, & do the same as everyone else? All in order to fit in & try to be normal. What even does that word mean? - Break the mold, use your voice, take up space, be creative in movement, breathe deeply. ... - A little at a time. Breaking the boundaries of this word normal & finding out who you are.

07.01.2022 Coffee, sun & learning. My favorite things

06.01.2022 Proud to be an accessible yoga ambassador.

06.01.2022 With so much uncertainty around its easy to feel overwhelmed, I know I have been. Hang in there. It will get better.

06.01.2022 When it reaches 15 degrees outside & youre freezing. Then remember you live in Brisbane & really have no idea what cold is. But you break out your wooly socks for practice anyway.

05.01.2022 Not the most amazing pumpkin soup glamour pic...but this soup is one of the best. And so easy too With a sneaky addition of chick peas, for a protein boost. Want to try for yourself? Let me know & Ill sent recipe thru

03.01.2022 Getting ready for class Twice a week I travel to two local senior retirement centers & have the privilege of sharing Yoga with them. Ages range from 65 to 91 & our sessions are full of laughter, bad jokes, joyful movement, & connection. ... And check out that awesome carpet.

02.01.2022 Life is certainly difficult at times, and this year has certainly made us stop & think. We need to care more, want less, reflect inward, listen & learn. From little things, big things grow.

02.01.2022 What do you do when your lemon tree finally comes up with the goods? Go old school & make lemon honey

01.01.2022 Another way to use equipment....bolster desk! * Im finally back to writing this book, after having some time away from the process. ... * Making sense of what is written in my hospital notes, is at times quite distressing. My hope is that these sentences written about my journey & recovery, encourages others to reach out, ask for help & know they are not alone.
