25.01.2022 I had a wonderful time in Central West Hospital Health Service last week, thank you to my fabulous colleagues - ALS & PALS training in Barcaldine, Longreach & Winton - love my trips to CWHHS! And Jen Williams I will be coming for a job in Winton once I finish resuscitating the world! Your team are terrific, I had a fun day! And thank you Saltbush Retreat Longreach for another delightful stay.... gotta love the west!

22.01.2022 I just received this wonderful message, it's incredible and inspiring, I will post my reply as well.... Hi Denise, I hope you don’t mind that I contact you through messenger, I figured you’ll hopefully get my message quicker than through your work email.... So, this is a bit hard for me to write, but I really want you to know, it is because of you, and the training you have taught me over the years in Defence, which helped me on Thursday. Never in my life, have I ever been in a situation where I would be first on scene to an arrest, It was your voice in my head that guided me through the ALS algorithm. It was your training which stood by me, while I’m frantically delivering that critical first shock, drawing up adrenaline and providing CPR. Between my self and 2 policemen, 10 mins felt like hours, 15 mins felt like days. So, the sad part is, I couldn’t save him, but the positive to come out of this, I feared the unknown, I feared that I could step up and apply this training to a real arrest, but I could, and it was really only possible, because of YOUR training. Thank you. Kyla Walkley

21.01.2022 First flight for February is... Rockhampton! Looking forward to more ALS with Rocky Hosp Medical Staff tomorrow. Hope you are all ready for it!

20.01.2022 Just had a fantastic weekend in Rockhampton. Thank you to the Anaesthetic Dept at Rockhampton Hosp for joining in the fun while refreshing ALS skills. You are all wonderful clinicians. See you all next time!

09.01.2022 I briefly went shops today wearing my work shirt, it has a healthcare training emblem on the left side, I had only been in my office all day, seen no one, the different reactions was mind blowing, some folk were incredibly nice, almost applauding my presence, while others, less educated, looked with aversion and frowned. I want the latter to know I teach my nursing and medical colleagues how to resuscitate you and manage your airway when you have difficulty breathing. We teac...h our colleagues how to put in intravenous lines to hydrate you when your dehydrated and burning up with fever. My colleagues will put their families on hold and their lives at risk, to save yours. You need to look at nurses, doctors, front line cleaners and emergency personnel as heroes. We didn't start the virus, but we'll give everything we've got to save you from it. I said 2 weeks ago there are 3 signs of the virus in our communities, 1. Loss of common sense, 2. Loss of common decency, 3. Loss of all mental capacity. Please just stop and think. And please stay home unless you really need to go out. Think it's not that hard! Please share if you agree and support healthcare professionals, it's time to show care to those who always care! See more
