23.01.2022 For many Australians, working from home has become the norm of 2020. But for some workers, this isnt an option; essential workers such as healthcare staff and those who work in grocery stores have not been given the luxury of WFH. While it is recommended by NSW transport to avoid public transport if possible, buses and trains can be the only way for some individuals to get to work. So, whats the best way to stay safe while commuting? click on the link to continue reading > https://healthcarehq.com.au/staying-safe-on-public-transpo/ #healthcarehq #registerednurses #oznurses #healthcareworkers #nursesinaustralia

19.01.2022 A marvellous depiction of Australia during the jacaranda season !

18.01.2022 Australia is the land of laidback culture, work-life balance, and weekend beach trips. Its also a melting pot of varied cultures from different ends of the world, a place where every culture can find its little nook. Theres a reason that so many people come to Australia every year to work and Healthcare HQ talked to Faye, a registered nurse from the Philippines who has been working in Australia for the last two years. 18.01.2022 Prime Minister Scott Morrison has heaped praise on NSW's state health system, calling it the "gold standard" in COVID-19 contact tracing. "Lockdowns and borders... are not signs of success in dealing with COVID-19. And so it's important that we put ourselves in a position where they do not feature in how Australia is dealing with COVID-19 on a sustainable basis," he said. "The most important thing is ensuring that we build an integrated tracing capability right across the country. "As I've noted, New South Wales is the gold standard. That is where we have to get everybody to to ensure that Australia can be open. And the plan that we will work on with the states and territories is to get ourselves to that standard so Australia can be open." The Prime Minister said Victoria's coronavirus roadmap was "crushing news" and noted Sydney would be under curfew now if Victorian rules applied. "What I can't help but be struck by is that, under the thresholds that have been set in that plan, Sydney would be under curfew now. Sydney doesn't need to be under curfew now. They have a tracing capability that can deal with outbreaks." What do you make of the comments?

16.01.2022 COVID-19 means that job losses have been tough on everybody and it doesn’t help that Australia is in its first recession in 30 years. While the Australian government has implemented programs such as JobSeeker and JobKeeper, Australia’s unemployment rates have slowly inched upwards. click here to continue reading >> https://healthcarehq.com.au/australia-facing-an-increasing- #healthcarehq #nursesinaustralia #OZnurses #COVID19 #unemployment2020

16.01.2022 New life at reptile park after catastrophic fire season Australian Reptile Park zookeeper Dan Rumsey said a joey had been named Ash in recognition of the ...fires: "Ash represents the start of what were hoping to be another successful breeding season. Last year, we had seven healthy koala joeys and we're very keen to help bolster their numbers after wild populations were ravaged during the horrific bushfire season," Dan said. Ash has been seen 'papping', which is a great sign that she is developing well and is growing into a healthy little koala. Papping is a process that involves the joey feeding on its mothers specialised form of faeces. This strengthens the joeys essential gut bacteria which is needed to break down eucalyptus leaf. : Australian Reptile Park

16.01.2022 Its September, the first month of spring, and we all know what that means: its the start of hay fever season. After a fairly mild winter, the flowers are truly in bloom. While Floriade looks a little different this year and our friends in Victoria can hopefully find a silver lining in minimising their allergies at home, Sydney is bracing for some sniffles, headaches and watery eyes. 15.01.2022 Doctors are cancelling elective surgeries because they cannot access protective masks, arguing hospitals that continue to perform "non essential" operations as the deadly coronavirus spreads are putting lives at risk.

10.01.2022 Its January 2020 and Australia has already seen one of the worst, if not the worst, bushfire seasons in recorded history. With an unusually early start to the season in mid-November, fires have been burning for two months already, with NSW and Victoria being especially affected. 07.01.2022 The coronavirus, or COVID-19, has certainly been a topic of conversation and concern ever since news of the outbreak was first reported on 31 December 2019, in Wuhan, China. 06.01.2022 COVID-19 has been the primary health concern for the world in 2020, but that doesn’t mean you should be neglecting the other aspects of your health. In July, the ABC found that numbers of breast cancer diagnosis had decreased during lockdown, prompted by fears of going to clinics during the pandemic. As COVID-19 cases rise again in Victoria and NSW, these fears may be returning. It’s important to see a medical professional for routine check-ups, but it is equally as important for you to keep an eye out for signs that your body may not be working at 100% capacity.
