24.01.2022 There is much fear based information circulating around us at this moment. So much that is unknown, uncertain. When we are faced with situations that are unfamiliar to us it is often our default reaction to feel fear. Fear affects us on so many levels, one of which could be to affect our immune system, another is an impact to our resilience. A practice that you may feel helpful in times when you feel your fear reflex being triggered, is to pause, take a long, slow, deep brea...th in and out (once is great, but three is even better) to readjust your nervous system. Whilst doing this, or after, whichever feels best for you, repeat to yourself, "I am safe, I am safe, I am safe" until you feel the fear move through you. Please consider our children are absorbing all of this also, and they do not have the maturity or knowledge to be able to make sense of it, and so their behaviour could be a little erratic. This is a really wonderful tool to teach them also.

The process of growing a baby in our bodies is an amazing thing, but it can be stressful physically, mentally and emotionally for the expe...ctant mother. Our Kinesiologist and massage therapist, Julie, offers a 90 minute Balance session to help your body to adapt to the changes that occur during pregnancy and to assist you to recover from the pregnancy and birth quicker. Some discomforts a mother may experience are: backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, lack of sleep and edema (or swelling). In addition, Pregnancy Massage may help to reduce stress on weight-bearing joints, encourage blood and lymph circulation, help to relax nervous tension -which may aid in better sleep- and assist to lessen depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Some common issues related to birth and pregnancy can lead to problems like bladder issues, circulation, back pain, hormonal imbalances and stress just to name a few. The treatment is individually tailored to each person and involves Kinesiology to balance the body, reset muscle tone and clear stress issues as well as a soothing massage. Babies often pick up on how mum is feeling If mum is in pain and stressed the baby may be unsettled. We've used the time to slow down, recharge, reset & reassess what is important and necessary to maintain a balanced life. I think we would all agree that its easy to take the simple things for granted, the most fundamental being, Human Contact & Connection. "You don't know what you've got until it's gone" as the saying goes. SO GREAT NEWS : the Queensland Government has lifted restrictions o...n Remedial Massage therapy so we will be reopening the clinic on the Tuesday 5th May. There are still strict guidelines in place to ensure the wellbeing of you the client and us as therapists. Therefore in order to ensure the continued wellbeing of all and adhere to these guidelines we will be changing how we operate. * Only one therapist at a time will be working in the clinic. This is to ensure the social distancing guidlines can be upheld. There can only be 2 people in the clinic at the one time ( client and therapist). * Unfortunately we are not able to see clients who are in the high risk category. *In order to maintain the strict hygiene guidelines set out by Qld Health & the relevant associations appointment times will be spaced out to allow full change of linen and disinfecting of all surfaces between clients. * We will need to screen clients when booking appointments to ensure you have no flu or flu like symptoms or have been overseas, or had contact with anyone who has been overseas recently.
