Pushing hands is a great learning opportunity on many fronts and beyond that it's fun : ) It's got little to do with getting the other person or just winning, it's all about keeping your balance and remaining in control of yourself. It's honestly one of my favorite drills in the world and I use it in almost every session I teach. Go get your push on : )

12.01.2022 Post 16: Healthy Eating Series We had pancakes for dinner on the weekend ... cause we're adults!!! - plain flour (preferably stoneground wholemeal for more fibre & nutrients)... - quick oats - optional (again for more fibre & nutrients) - baking soda - bi-carb - apple cider vinegar (add a little to anything for flavor & nutrients, also helps activate baking soda & bi-carb in desserts) - cinnamon - nutmeg - frozen overripe bananas (thawed & mashed) - enough milk (preferably non-dairy) to achieve desired pancake thickness - just enough oil spray in the pan to prevent sticking - thawed frozen berries to serve (some of the most nutritious fruit available & so simple & TASTY) SAVE YOUR SWEETENERS TILL THE END. You'll be amazed how much sweetness the overripe bananas add. If you still want a bit more sweetness drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over your pancakes before eating. You'll need a heap less to achieve the desired taste than if you added sweeteners to the batter prior to cooking. (Same goes for salt. 11.01.2022 Post 15: Healthy Eating Series Yesterday I went 21hrs without eating - not a big deal - unless you're me. Going 2 waking hours without eating would've had me feeling like this a couple of years ago. I had no real reason for fasting. I could easily have eaten. I simply wasn't that hungry - again, that's a sentence I could never have honestly written 2yrs ago.... I even went grocery shopping on the way home from the gym at the 20hr mark. Something you should never do on an empty stomach. I left the grocery store with our normal shop & no hungrier than when I walked in. THIS IS THE MAGIC BULLET OF HEALTHY EATING. Your body & more importantly YOU change, physically, emotionally & mentally. You no longer crave unhealthy food because your body's getting what is actually needs. Even better, you regain control of yourself. All this starts in your gut - the source of your food cravings. Your gut's directly linked to your brain via your nervous system. Due to this it's sometimes referred to as your second brain. If your diet isn't the best the particular bacteria currently thriving in your intestines need sugar, fat & salt to survive (chocolate, ice-cream, chips, fast food, soft drinks etc. etc.) while the healthy bacteria that feed on the nutrients your body actually needs fight for survival. The discomfort (& suffering ) experienced when you start eating healthier is your unhealthy bacteria trying to stay alive. They'll do anything for their next fix. But over time (4-6wks) your healthy bacteria will take over & you'll start craving healthier food. If you're rolling your eyes right now I don't blame you. My wife & I wouldn't have believed it either if we hadn't lived it. So, if you're starting your health journey KEEP GOING. Take one small step after another. If you stumble get up & keep going. If you wander off the path change course & get back on track as soon as possible. This isn't a sprint. This isn't a 12wk miracle fix. THIS IS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE so take your time, figure out what works for you, BE KIND TO YOURSELF & JUST KEEP GOING ... and please don't worry, it gets easier with time as you become the HEALTHIER & HAPPIER YOU #rowville #ferntreegully #knoxville #healthyeating #healthyfood #healthylifestyle #nutrition #womenshealth #menshealthawareness
