13.01.2022 Healthlands are saying NO to plastic bags starting Monday the 27th of July 2015 in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and create a more sustainable environment. Plastic bags can take up to 1000 years to fully decompose and turtles, dolphins, and whales can choke or starve by confusing plastic bags for jellyfish - and to think we only use them for 5 minutes! We encourage all our lovely costomers to bring their own reusable bags and join us in this step to a more sustainable and environmentally aware future. In case of emergencies we will still have plastic bags in store but will ask for a small donation that will go towards Animals Australia in their efforts to create a cleaner, kinder world for animals.

04.01.2022 Christmas is a time to relax, enjoy the company of family and friends and indulge. Make sure you stay on track this Christmas without missing out on any goodies with The Healthy Chef delicious Christmas Cake (gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free). Pick up everything you need in store today! 600 g mixed dried Fruit or a mix of the following (raisins, prunes, figs, apricot, currants, sultanas, dates) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla bean extract or paste... 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg zest and juice from 1 orange 3 tablespoons olive oil 3 eggs 200 g (2 cups) ground almonds 50 g walnuts Preheat your oven to 150 C (fan forced) Prepare a 20 cm round cake tin with baking paper lining the sides and the base. Combine dried fruit, spice, vanilla, orange zest + juice, olive oil and eggs. Add the almonds and walnuts and mix through. Spoon Christmas Cake batter into your baking tin. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Check with a skewer to see if it comes out clean, if not bake for another 30 minutes. Cover the top if necessary to prevent over-browning.
