24.01.2022 A little chilly out this morning in Melbourne town but a brave group of us hit the road on our bikes for a 68k jaunt. Back in the warmth of home had a post ride protein hit blending the new Yes You Can Cacao and macadamia with a shot of FG Roberts No nuts butter. Both gluten free, dairy free, vegan, nut free, high in protein and fibre. Yum and nutritious. Delivering a touch under 20g of protein per serve. Both products are new and rolling out into health stores and IGAs as we speak :)

A mix of brown rice + freekah + quinoa plus fresh veg. With no tamari tempeh in the house I substituted with pan fried garlic mushrooms. 05.01.2022 Did you know.....Vitamin D may help to prevent cognitive decline Recent studies have shown that low levels of Vitamin D may double the risk of cognitive decline. In the study published in the Journals of Gerontology, regardless of gender and age, people with a lower Vitamin D level at the start of the study were approximately twice as likely to exhibit significant cognitive decline over time. "The findings reinforce the idea that vitamin D protects against neuron damage and l...oss, and call for more intensive investigations into the effects of vitamin D supplements on cognitive decline," according to a Duke university release about the work. So get out there and catch some sun, you need a minimum of 10 minutes a day. Next time you are getting a blood test ask your Doctor to add a Vitamin D test. If your Vitamin D levels are low, take a good quality supplement.
