19.01.2022 A great book for teaching our children about body safety and letting them know Some Secrets should never be kept.

19.01.2022 Summary of ALL our advice about protection from GP's can April 6, 2020 To protect yourself... You are safest to stay at home You may need to go out to the doctor e.g. for immunisations You may need to go out to get groceries You need to exercise, do it safely Healthy spacing if you do need to head out Enact ‘the bubble’ make it fun for kids Avoid public areas where other people are Sorry but the beach or popular walking tracks aren’t the place to be right now Needing to go to the shops? Make it quick In and out On your own Check if you can order online and have delivered Hands below shoulders Wash your hands this really does work! Consider washing your face or showering after you have been out Protect those who are more vulnerable Masks may help More so if community transmission is occurring (not much in Australia as of April 5) MUST be used properly Using a cloth mask will help preserve surgical and P2 masks for our frontline If you are caring for someone who is unwell, use a mask Please don’t put off your flu immunisation because you don’t have a mask or are anxious to attend your doctor. Talk to your GP about how this can be done safely If you are a healthcare or essential service worker, please check with your workplace Recommendations will vary Your own safety needs to come first you cannot keep others safe if you are not safe To protect others When you venture out assume you have COVID19 but just don’t know it yet Cover coughs and sneezes Avoid touching surfaces Hands below shoulders Wash your hands Consider wearing a cloth mask if there is community spread in your area Once there is more Covid-19 around, the risk increases that you may have been exposed and may pass it on to others even if you feel well. If you are sick stay home No exceptions, unless under strict medical advice Telehealth appointments are available Wear a mask if you need to travel to receive medical care or testing for COVID19.

18.01.2022 About flu vaccines 2020 There are 4 groups of vaccines that your GP gets in 1. GOV. funded > 65 yr : super strong for an ageing immune system 2. GOV funded < 65 yr : free for those with chronic illness that could affect their immune system and pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy and ATSI folk over 6 months. ... 3. PRIVATE < 65 yr $20: available at this cost to any person when in stock 5 years or older 4. GOV funded from age 6 months to 4 years 11 months ( different vaccine again ) When thinking about flu jabs A. Which group are you in a 1, 2 ,3 or 4 ? When you ring to check on current availability, please tell staff this because we will not always have in the right one for you or your family B. There is still time before the influenza season : do not panic. In fact it is possible that the " flu season" will be less than usual because of everyone's fabulous hygiene practices. 10 AM 2/4/2020 we have no available stock of any of the above 4 types of vaccines. This will change in the next week or two but we do not know this until they actually arrive & we have no authority to arrange earlier delivery. What can you do about this ? 1. Watch our Facebook for up to the hour news on availability. 2. Ring weekly if you want to ( but not more often please ) 3. We cannot keep a list of interested people this year as the number reached 100 in a very small number of hours this week. 4. Be reassured, that while you are in your homes, the current risk of flu at this time is exceedingly small. 5. At both practices we will be running flu immunisation clinics as stock permit. 6. Please be kind to our front of house staff. They are just as anxious about COVID-19 as you are but still have to be productive at work. Their job is always stressful but 2020 has added all sorts of layers on top of the usual. We will get through this together!! Stay well!! Eddie and Joan
