23.01.2022 When was the last time you sat down and thought about your bigger goal? Do you have a 3-month goal or a 6-month goal? Writing down where we want to go helps us to visualise and cements us on the path to achievement. By placing your goal in a prominent place helps to reinforce and encourage. Can you write on a piece of paper and stick to the fridge? Can you use as your screen saver on your phone?

22.01.2022 Do you take the time to breathe properly? After you wake up, take five minutes and take some deep diaphragmatic breaths. This can allow you to relax and focus on what is happening with your body. This can be classed as a Mindfulness activity. Mindfulness is about being aware of what is happening in the present on a moment by moment basis, while not making judgements about whether we like or don’t like what we find. Take five minutes today to focus on your breathing and connect with your body.

11.01.2022 I often get asked about exercise - How often should I exercise? How much should I be doing? What should I do?... This week would be great if instead of "exercise" you look for moments of movement - "physical activity". I encourage people to get moving! Physical activity is something that should be enjoyed. It needs to fit in with your daily routine and you want to keep doing it! When was the last time you put on music and danced? This week set aside 5 minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour to turn on some music and get moving! You can be alone, you can include family and friends...let the music move you!

The challenge kicks off THIS TUESDAY (14 Nov) on World Diabetes Day. With just 5 days to go, let me tell you how it all works:... The challenge starts on World Diabetes Day, next Tuesday 14 November, and goes until Sunday 26 November. You can complete your steps as an individual, family or team. Recruit your friends and family on the fitness challenge together and everyone's efforts will count towards your 120,000 step goal. You don't have to walk every day. You can walk at your own pace and on the days that suit you. If you can’t complete 120,000 steps, then simply choose a step goal that suits your abilities and schedule. The challenge is designed to fit in with your lifestyle, so take it easy, move at your own page...and have some fun. :)
