14.01.2022 Telehealth is back for Melbourne's lockdown 3.0 We will be asking all patients booked for appointments during Stage 4 lockdown to start as Telehealth (phone or video) instead of Face to face, effective from 8.30am Saturday (13/2/21) until at least end of day Wednesday (17/02/21). This is in line with our previous approach during Stage 4 restrictions, to minimise any face to face contact if it's not clinically necessary.... During this time, anyone booking appointments will be advised that their practitioner will call them via our Telehealth process at time of their appointment. If you may need a face to face examination, you can begin the appointment waiting in your car in the carpark (at Cranbourne or Croydon) and your practitioner will determine if/when it's appropriate for you to come into the clinic to complete your appointment. Our reception team will be contacting all patients who have already booked for this timeframe to advise of the changes. We will aim to switch back to face to face appointments next week if/when restrictions ease & if the current outbreak appears contained. For further information please contact a HealthMint clinic Cranbourne (03) 5611 3365 Croydon (03) 8777 0666 We thank you for your support during the next several days and wish everyone the best - we have been through this before and we can do it again.

09.01.2022 This #WorldHeartDay pledge to create healthy heart environments for a healthier life ahead We are living in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on the healthcare profession, national healthcare systems and our individual responsibilities for our own health and for the vulnerable in society. We don’t know what course the pandemic will take in the future but we do know that taking care of our hearts right now is more important than ever.... Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the number one cause of death on the planet. It has many causes: from smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity, to air pollution, and rare and neglected conditions such as Chagas Disease and cardiac amyloidosis. In the time of COVID-19, CVD patients are faced with a double-edged threat. Not only are they more at risk of developing severe forms of the virus, but they may also be afraid to seek ongoing care for their hearts. We can all look after our hearts and help to prevent CVD by eating a healthy diet, saying no to tobacco, sticking to safe alcohol guidelines and getting plenty of exercise setting an example for our children and loved ones. If you have an underlying health condition, such as heart disease, heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure or obesity, don’t let COVID-19 stop you attending your regular check-ups. And never avoid calling the emergency services if you need to it’s safe and medical professionals are there for you. #useheart #worldheartday #healthyhearts #hearthealthy #heartdisease #cardiovasculardisease #cvd #healthmint #hearthealth See more

05.01.2022 PSA! Dr Jennifer here with your friendly (tongue twisted!) reminder to check when you are due for your cervical screening appointment! Cervical screenings replaced pap smears in 2017 Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Most cervical cancers occur in women who have never screened or do not screen regularly. Having regular screening tests is the best way to protect yourself. The test detects the presence of HPV so that it can be monitored or investigated ...further if needed. You are eligible for the test if you: - are aged between 25 and 74 - have ever been sexually active - are a woman or person with a cervix. If you have received a reminder about cervical screening during the lock downs last year, or if you have any questions or concerns, please call a HealthMint clinic to discuss your circumstances, or alternatively book an appointment online at www.healthmint.com.au Cranbourne (03) 5611 3365 Croydon (03) 8777 0666

04.01.2022 Skin checks at HealthMint This is a PSA as we are entering beach and sun season: It's not about how big the freckle or mole is on your skin, but the depth of it underneath. Even a SMALL freckle can be really bad news. ... You're at an increased risk for Melanoma if you have ever gotten a sunburn (yes, even as a kid!), and you're also at an increased risk of you have ever used a tanning bed (they have been illegal for many years now). Melanoma affects people with ALL skin tones. It doesn't care if you are pale and freckly, or if you turn a golden brown after an afternoon at the beach. Please book in for regular skin checks - two in three of us will have been diagnosed with skin cancer by the time we are 70. 1. Wear sunscreen 2. Wear wide brimmed hats 3. Stay out of the sun during the middle of the day 4. Get your small skin spots checked 5. Get your spots checked that appear normal 6. Get the spots checked that look abnormal It doesn't take long and it could save your life TAG a friend to remind them to get their skin checked Book online at www.healthmint.com.au or phone one of our clinics See more

03.01.2022 Re-Posted (with edits) @saabiraw.dietitian Give a thumbs up to your local GP! Health Practitioners (doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapist, dietitian and all health professiona and support staff) across Australia, have been working hard to adapt to new ways of providing care. So that you and your family can continue to receive the care you need to maintain optimal health. All this while managing the fear of the underlying safety concerns of themselves, staf...f and family at home. The ongoing restrictions has caused many clinics to close their doors. The reasons range from being unable to see clients in person to provide care, increasing cost of safety equipment or the drop in clients coming through to seek health services. So as restrictions ease over the next few weeks, take steps to improve your health and well-being and support local health professionals. How can we do our part to support local GPs? 1. Keep up with necessary appointments and ongoing care. 2. Staying in touch with your local health practitioners (e.g. via social media). 3. Supporting their updated or new ways in providing care (e.g ebooks, online sessions, workshops). 4. Encouraging your friends and family to keep up-to date with their health care. To raise awareness of all the hard-work all healthcare practitioners are doing across Australia and the world. JOIN US IN GIVING A THUMBS UP TO YOUR LOCAL GP! Show your support, take a selfie with a thumbs up and tag all your local health practitioners to let them know they have your support. #supportlocalGPs #isupportGPs #visityourGP #healthmint (Acknowledgement: this initiative was started by @healthmint to raise awareness of GP's) The husband makes a guest appearances on my feed, General Practitioner at @healthmint - look no further for a fresh take on healthcare! . . . . . #healthprofessionals #isupportGPs #melbournelockdown #covid19aus #physiotherapyaustralia #choosephysio #australiadoctors #dietitiansaustralia #melbournechiropractor #speechpathology #speechtherapyaustralia #womenshealth #womensholistichealth #gynaecologistmelbourne #wellbeing #healthcheck #visit
