But shockingly, they've overlooked aged care workers in this promise. Aged care workers who have spent this year on the frontlines of this horrific virus. Our health system isn't made up of just doctors and nurses. Healthcare is more complex than that, and the NSW Government must know it. We invite the Premier to visit an aged care site - any aged care site - to see the passion and commitment of aged care professionals who have been on the frontlines since day one. The Premier should do the decent thing and extend the invitation.

Today, Gerard Hayes HSU Secretary, alongside representatives of other aged care unions, will be laying out a plan for Action in Aged Care. We need to ensure that our elderly get the care they deserve, workers are recognised for what they do, providers are held to account, and the government pitches in. Only when we do all these things will we have an aged care system fit for purpose.
