11.01.2022 As we enjoy a week of rain, the summer heat is still hanging around resulting in those lovely humid evenings . Our sinuses are now vulnerable. As we breath in air, small hair-like structures called cilia try to broom out mucous allowing us to expel it and breath normally. However as humidity increases, the cilias need to cool the incoming air and broom away mucous creates congestion. Basically our sinus becomes over-worked. This can lead to sinus pain and headaches. To avoid this from occurring you can use a Neti pot to drain mucous, drink ginger tea with honey and maintain outdoor exercise (hoping it's not a high pollen day).
