25.01.2022 While walking along the beach we found a canoe washed up. 1.5 hours later we had it emptied out by hand. It was full of water and sand. We dragged it along the beach like a couple of cart horses, but knew we would not be able to get it up the bank without help. We phoned our neighbours and Ros and John helped us get it to the car. We now have a 2 man canoe that our guests can use on the lagoon. Worth the effort.

24.01.2022 Comerong Island beach after the recent flood waters and high tides. Not so pretty but every time I go to the beach it is different. That is what makes it so special.

22.01.2022 Heart Tree business cards in production. I recently joined the local pottery club and came up with this idea of creating a business card for our BNB guests to take home. Spent some time working out the best design. I feel I have it now. I now also offer our guests the opportunity to make their own piece out of clay. Why not come and Potter with me.

22.01.2022 Merry Christmas from Heart Tree Comerong Island.

21.01.2022 Thanks to our dear brother in law Ralph, for painting the window frames. A significant improvement. We have also installed new blinds for a cleaner neater effect. Why not make a booking and check it out. Special offer for returning guests if you book directly through us.

20.01.2022 Life is good when you have friends to share another beautiful day on Comerong Island. Thank you Hennie and Annelise for the company.

19.01.2022 Dragging the canoe along the frothy beach

18.01.2022 Winter time is a beautiful time of year to enjoy happy hour by the fire pit, as the sun sets behind the distant hills. Every sunset is different. Winter is also a time to enjoy long walks along the beach with only the sea gulls for company and of course the special person in your life.

17.01.2022 Incredible to see our banana tree flower unfold to reveal the baby bananas within. Never thought bananas would produce on the beautiful Shoalhaven coast. Now we just wait to find out if they taste any good.

16.01.2022 Egrets enjoying the frogs joy.

16.01.2022 Comerong Island Beach after the fires in the area

10.01.2022 This is the best time of the year to have "happy hour" around the fire pit and watch the sun set. A great way to share a few stories and make new friends.

09.01.2022 Christmas Day on Comerong Island. John and Saskia would like to wish all guests to Heart Tree a blessed Christmas with family and friends and every happiness in 2020.

09.01.2022 You may be interested to know that Comerong Island is officially an island again! The Shoalhaven River is open to the sea after the excitement of the king tide and the floodwaters of the river. We are thankful that our home was safe.

07.01.2022 Amazing that a willy wagtail built its nest on a rake in our garden shed. Access was through the louver window with one pane missing. Fascinating to watch what happens over the next few weeks. 1st photo 18/10/19 last photo 11/11/19.

07.01.2022 The frogs have certainly enjoyed the recent rains. We are thankful for the rain, our tanks are overflowing.

06.01.2022 We are proud to officially name our property .... Heart Tree, 1560 Comerong Island Rd, Comerong Island. Located on the beautiful Shoalhaven coast. Super hosts for Air BNB.

04.01.2022 After salvaging the big red canoe from the beach in August, John and I took it for its maiden voyage and christened it Big Red. We have now made it available for our guests to use and it is a hit. The lagoon at high tide is perfect for a paddle to the river.
