25.01.2022 When your day & week starts with a view as spectacular as this ... seen while doing something that fills your cup ... you know it’s going to be a good one

24.01.2022 WHAT I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO ... The Imperfects ... This podcast is presented by Hugh van Cuylenberg of The Resilience Project and comedian Ryan Shelton. Their usual MO is to interview a celebrity guest and ask them about their personal struggles and imperfections. But this episode is a little different. It’s condensed version of The Resilience Project’s primary message and that is finding happiness through practicing GRATITUDE, EMPATHY & MINDFULNESS. ... GEM Now more than ever we need to build our resilience muscle and in this episode Hugh provides us with a few tools to do just that. Jac xx https://podcasts.apple.com//po/the-imperfects/id1476501557

24.01.2022 W I D E O P E N O U T D O O R S P A C E ... a commodity that we will come to crave in the coming days and weeks. So whilst I still can ... I’m getting out and about in a socially responsible way, breathing in the fresh air, listening to the world without buds in my ears, drinking in the view, appreciating the space ... then when I return home I have a little extra emotional capacity to bunker down. xx

24.01.2022 RAIN It’s just water. If you live in Melbourne you have to expect 4-seasons in one day. And if you’re a runner who lives in Melbourne ... well some days you just have to accept you’ll get a little wet ... happy Sunday x

19.01.2022 BUMP DAY THOUGHT BUBBLE Your body adapts to what you eat & how you move. Your mind adapts to what you consume. ... Your soul adapts to what you love. What you feed yourself today is who you become tomorrow. xx See more

18.01.2022 Back in the day I was too focussed on data & goals to stop. These days ... this is the stuff that keeps me running

16.01.2022 I’m not ashamed to admit it ... I’ve fallen in love ... again ... with RUNNING Yes we have an and off again relationship but this time I think it’s here to stay. Why? Three simple mindset shifts ...... 1 Every run has a purpose - the purpose can be anything eg to get out in the fresh air for 20 minutes, to clear my head, to re-charge my energy, to enjoy the sunrise 2 I’m looking at the world rather than a watch because I’ve taken my focus off pace and instead run guided by effort ... easy does it!! 3 I finish the run and stop before I need to, whilst I feel really good and strong and comfortable. Why? So that I want to run again ... and soon ... to recapture that awesome feeling. Have you fallen in and out of love with running? How did you hit reset and rekindle the running love affair?

14.01.2022 This is why I run

14.01.2022 WHAT I’VE BEEN READING. This article from The Chronicle that puts a bit of perspective around where we are and what we face. A few takeaways that stood out ... ... Global catastrophes change the world ... the legacy of this pandemic will live with us for years, perhaps decades to come. It will change the way we move, build, learn, and connect. There is simply no way that our lives will resume as if this had never happened. The emotionally and spiritually sane response is to prepare to be forever changed. In this early stage focus on food, family, friends & maybe fitness .... Understand that this is a marathon. If you sprint at the beginning, you will vomit on your shoes by the end of the month. Emotionally prepare for this crisis to continue for 12 to 18 months, followed by a slow recovery. If it ends sooner, be pleasantly surprised. Right now, work toward establishing your serenity, productivity, and wellness under sustained disaster conditions. But ... read it through your own lens. These are MY takeaways and yours could be totally different. I’d be interested in your thoughts Jac xx https://www.chronicle.com//Why-You-Should-Ignore-A/248366/

13.01.2022 so much YES to this!! Double tap if you agree. Bring on June 22 . . .... #exerciseismedicine #gymsaresafe

10.01.2022 Oh happy sunny days ... . . . #thebestthingsinlifearefree #bluesky #pissoffcorona

09.01.2022 The flower that follows the sun does so even in cloudy days Robert Leighton It may feel like a dark heavy cloud has descended upon us this week, but the flowers ARE still blooming, and if you flip your thinking, I’m sure you’ll find many positives in the current situation. Here’s a few of mine ... No getting up at stupid o’clock for a while... No school lunches to make Enjoying a family dinner every night Greater sharing of the household chores But seriously, appreciating all we have rather than wanting for what we don’t have. I am positive we will come out of this with a changed perspective. Changing that perspective starts and ends within. What positives do you see? xx

08.01.2022 A NEW DAY, a fresh beginning, a new opportunity, anticipation for what may unfold today. A little something from @jamesclear today about anticipation ... Anticipate, but don’t expect. Anticipation: You’re excited for what the future holds, but don’t try to control it. Expectation: You try to predict the future and restrict your happiness to one outcome. Always be excited about the possibilities. Never be entitled to them. ... Now more than ever, when we stare down uncertainty, is a mindset of anticipation and curiosity WITHOUT the pressure of expectation required. Just like being flexible and malleable physically allows you greater range of movement, so too does emotional flexibility. Anticipate, but don’t expect ... happy FriYAY xx
