20.01.2022 With the pervasive spread of Covid-19 and the enforced isolation, my creative juices fired up. Have a read and let me know if this resonates at all. COVERT VULNERABILITY It seems to me that we must be... Aware and ultra brave Confronting times Cross all the lines An overwhelming wave It seems to me our aim should be Shaken but not stirred If like James Bond, we radiate Brave and calming words. It seems to me if we but hold The faith that we’ll be fine We walk apart Hand on heart On zoom perhaps we dine The fear that leers Too often now And grabs our chests so tight Remember you only need a step To start you on your flight Well here it is, the virus scare That holds us in our homes We must look in the mirror And search our very bones. It seems to me that all those times A friend said ‘meditate’, or ‘take some time to give self-care’ and we said, not me, mate! Perhaps it’s wise, you never know, to give it all a go Maybe what you need today, to give you tomorrow It seems to me, that whilst we search For work that pays the bills We need to calm our anxious minds And stay our inner ills If like me, your fortress high And breaching it is tough Lean on family, call on friends They too can find it rough If Covid-19 finds you scared A monster rather agile You’ll need to slow right down To avoid feeling too fragile If you have air and trees and home If you have family on the phone If you can smile because you see Your body works, and you can pee If you can laugh, and touch and feel Then gratitude will keep you real Please breathe and look within We’re all in this together It seems to me, if we reach out We’ll brave the stormy weather.
