17.01.2022 Helloooo everybody! To say that its been a few chaotic weeks/months in the HEARTBREAKER world would be an understatement!!! Firstly, Id like to start by thanking the people who have been patient and understanding while we have made our way thru the world of running a business in a small town. If you have been trying to contact us over the last while, you would have realised weve been a bit hard to get a hold of. Ive been pretty run down and tried to take the pressure o...ff myself where I could, by trying to limit my workload at times, and trying to look after existing clients. But inevitably, I ended up getting sicker, and more run down. In a world thats driven by creativity, its hard to do your best when youre feeling like shit. I had a few weeks holiday booked out for the end of August thru to September, for almost a year. To turn 40 and have a holiday with Crystel, which coincided with my band, Tiger Snakes , touring Japan. The days before we left I was quite ill, with numerous drs visits and advised to not get on the plane. The one break I was hanging in there for was slipping away, and a day before was virtually cancelled. Part of living a creative life is jumping in there and making it happen. As sick as I had been, I was getting on that plane, and going on that adventure, to be re-inspired by life outside of feeling like crap! Ive been tattooing since 2001. Thats self employed for 19 years. Not one payed sick day and not one payed annual leave day in 19 years. For those reasons alone I work in a way that benefits myself, and my personal life the best way I can. Its a hard balance. So with all that in mind. Were all back on board this week. Aaron will be taking on smaller tattoo bookings in the coming weeks. Ill be trying my hardest to catch up on everybody I need to, so please make contact if we havent. Remember this has been a one man show for the past two years. I only have two hands and so many hours in the day. Those who understand, thank you. To those that dont, theres plenty of capable artists in the world, do your research and find someone who will do a rad tattoo for you. Or even better, keep an eye out for our upcoming guest artists coming through and jump at the chance to get tattooed off some world renowned artists coming to Portland! 17.01.2022 To my valued clients, I will now be working on a private/by appointment only basis at HBS, for the short to medium term. It hasnt been a decision made lightly, however I owe it to myself and my clients to put the foot on the break for 5. The past 3 years have been a roller coaster at Heartbreaker Studio, thats for sure! Its time to hit the reset button! ... In lieu of this, I will be working with my current client base and ongoing work. My books will be on hold for the short term. Heartbreaker has been running by appointment for the past few months, but considering the current climate, were going to close the doors until the world figures all of this out.... With respect to our health care workers and system, were isolating ourselves as much as possible. A healthy workforce can rebuild a sick economy, not the other way around. Were all in the same boat, we all have bills. This shit is looking rough. To do my bit to stop the spread, Im bowing out till theres a time Im needed again. Hopefully its a few weeks... realistically not, but we can only do this one day at a time! On a funner note, heres a perfect time to catch up on stuff we all wanted to do.
