19.01.2022 1200 likes. THANK YOU for your support! We hope this work-in-progress collab piece for the young HEARTCORE authors will keep growing and reflect this support! Stay tuned for opportunities to be part of it :)

19.01.2022 Book design + layout working day for Kaff-eine + E, part one, done. Essential chocolate provided by the Global Law Students Association, awesome :).

19.01.2022 Some of you may have seen the collab artwork on the left by Kaff-eine + Berry Street students: an interpretation of the writing on bullying by young author, Jordan, surrounded by experiences of the other young collaborators. This artwork in turn inspired a work-in-progress piece, shown on the right. Also another collab, but this time between Kaff and the public, it was started at the Global Law Students Association event at the The University of Melbourne. It bears messages... from HEARTCORE supporters to the young Berry Street authors, and will continue to grow at the launch. It was the brainchild of Megan, a Beyond Blue Ambassador + RUOK? supporter, who explains: 'Hearing about the stories by the young authors was overwhelming. While I am blessed to have never gone through such experiences, I could understand their feelings of isolation, not being heard and alone in the world. I also knew that it takes just one person to say to you that what you went through isn't fair - it's nothing to do with you. When I saw Kaff-eine's artwork of the young person being bullied, surrounded by real life words that the students have been told, all I wanted to do was to tell each of them how brave they were, that they are survivors, that people can suck!' Megan of JoElla Marketing, HEARTCORE volunteer + supporter Thank you to all of those who have collaborated on these pieces. We look forward to seeing the collab for the Berry Street students develop at the launch on 25 September!

04.01.2022 Some humbling + generous words for HEARTCORE from Cheryl, a wonderful + inspiring supporter. Thank you. 'I was one of those kiddos 45 years ago and I hope in my way I give back like you. I am now a 49 year old (ick) Social Work student, a foster parent and have set up a street outreach for rough sleepers in Melbourne ... Honestly thank you so much ...I see your work and get goosebumps ... I am working with people experiencing mental illness and addictions - and sadly the...y all experienced trauma in their birthhomes... I show them your updates and the art speaks to them ... they open up about their experiences ... so your work is reaching the hearts of not just our broken children but a bunch of older people with broken childhoods that led to lifelong disadvantage ...' - Cheryl C, HEARTCORE supporter The HEARTCORE book is available now for purchase at the special pre-launch price of $40 at www.heartcorebook.com.au. Words from one of the youngest street art collaborators, Willow: 'I love that they are ginormous, so everyone can enjoy them and I like taking photos. I loved painting a butterfly with Kaff, it made me feel very happy. I also love her 'rainbow' boots - she always wears them!' ... - Willow, 5yo HEARTCORE street art collaborator To give some background on this collaboration, her mum, Madeleine explains: 'Willow met Kaff-eine in early 2013 while Kaff was working on a piece in Prahran. I got a photo of them together, which Willow took much pride in sharing at kinder during show and tell. They've been friends ever since. Weve enjoyed following Kaff's work for HEARTCORE and watching her paint. Willow always finds her own whimsical and magical meaning in each piece.' - Madeleine, HEARTCORE supporter.
