22.01.2022 Easter is such a special & fun filled day however it is no wonder that at times our little ones can get overwhelmed & crash. Waking up racing (literally) with an exciting treasure/egg hunt, consuming "sometimes" foods & sugars that aren't the usual, changes to daily rythym, family & unfamiliar faces visiting (and the extra chatter & noise that go along with more people in one space), to name a few. Yesterday the crash was expected & inevitable at some point throughout the da...y, but I was amazed at how well the boys went with all the happenings in our usually semi quite home (with not often having many visitors pass through & not our own usual noises). At the end of the afternoon, the time came when it was all a little too much for Lux & he let out a mighty screach - a sign of his discomfort, wanting to be seen/heard, tiredness & needing mama's help. I carried him in for a bath & gave him some lavendar & rose petals to sprinkle in while I sang softly. The water & petals helped however he wasn't yet balanced, so I began telling a story using my pinky fingers. One pinky had been a little hurtful (stinky pinky) to his friend, but by the end the pinkies were using their kind, gentle & loving hearts with one another & danced off cuddling & playing together. This instantly allowed him to shift by focusing on my story & hand gestures, turning to laughter & wanting me to repeat the story again. It is in these moments I am grateful for doing the inner work that helps me to better understand & hold this space. By holding space for his big feelings, it allowed him to co-regulate & in turn calm his whole self. Some days are easier than others to do this, some days I need to dig deep (really deep!), & somedays I fail. After all the build up, excitement & fun from yesterday it was nice to enjoy a slow rainy day today. Easing back into our usual rythym. Our ice egg inspo is from beautiful @heartofblooms_ The kids loved breaking them open with hammers to discover the nature treasures hidden inside. I'll share a DIY in my reel comments soon, stay tuned. Stinky pinky inspo from @we_nurture podcast episode. A beautiful, nurturing, mindful parenting page & podcast @ Pottsville, New South Wales

18.01.2022 Happy Easter weekend everyone If you missed our stories yesterday, we started our long weekend with a mindful morning walk collecting Mother Nature's fallen treasures. We used our collections, along with some left over dried florals, bio-glitter & gold leaf in our #crafternoon to create floral ice eggs. While we created, Lux sung about Mother Nature's fallen treasures and each person he was creating an egg for. He wants to save his special eggs for tomorrow when his Nanny ...& Poppy (who we rarely see) are here to enjoy all together Today we will bake some yummy hot cross buns and make some simple water colour Easter cards. What do you have planned for the long weekend? Let us know!

12.01.2022 H A P P Y E A S T E R beautiful HOP fam. I hope your home & hearts have been filled with love & happiness today & that you were able to celebrate this day surrounded by those you cherish. We have had a wonderful day consciously connecting with each other, hence our delayed post today. I'm finally climbing into bed now & have a chance post ... This morning the boys woke to a special little Easter hunt and before diving into our freshly baked hot cross buns, we lit our candle in the centre of our advent spiral and sung a special morning verse we have recently adapted in our home. Lux also decided to share his gratitude with us for the day saying "I am grateful I have a family" It is so beautiful to witness such a young mind having gratitude like this, even on days like today when excitement is running high & sweet "sometimes foods" were at the very start of his day in the easter hunt (which are not common for him to have). It's so heart-warming to hear that almost Mr 4, above all else, is still most grateful for (and most looking forward to) connection & time with those he loves. Our day was filled with just that ~ family, presence, connection & love. Bike rides, easter playdough creations (of course ), puzzles, baking with the kids having a turn at kneading their dough & piping the top of their very own hot cross buns, and finishing the afternoon with our Easter craft activity of peeling & hammering our mindfully created nature ice eggs. To create our advent spiral, I used air-dry clay where I pressed in our crystal chips and made indents to hold our plant dyed wooden eggs Unfortunately Lenox got a hold of the spiral a few times and it has since snapped in two, so I will be making another for future celebrations, albeit a bit thicker next time! I'll share some of our Easter fun including our ice eggs (inspired by beautiful Andrea @heartofblooms) tomorrow. These are a great activity for anytime of the year. My eyes are far too tired for anymore now so I'm signing off Night all. Elysse x @ Pottsville, New South Wales
