18.01.2022 http:// 10 new nesting boxes for local Phascogales // The Whroo Goldfields CMN's program '1000 hallows' has installed approximately 1100 nesting boxes in the forests surrounding Heathcote, Costerfield, Graytown and Rushworth. These boxes are built to make up for the lack of natural hallows in the trees and target the endangered Brush Tail Phascogale and are also used by other animals including sugar gliders, antechinus, geckos and insects.... On behalf of our customers we were proud to provide sponsorship of $500 towards the production of 10 more boxes. Whroo Goldfields CMN President Orlando Talamo recently popped into our branch to show us one of the new boxes which has been engraved with our name - the box will be on display in the branch for the next few weeks before being installed in the forest.

What did you find the most challenging? "Nothing really changed for me as I was still able to go to work, but I would say not being able to see my niece and nephew and friends and not being able to go to the footy to watch my beloved Dee’s." What were you looking forward to most as restrictions start to ease? "Catching up with family and friends."

06.01.2022 http:// An update on how our branch is managing Covid-19 // We would like to ensure the community that we're taking customer and staff safety very seriously at our branch. Below we have provided a quick update on current procedures.... A number of safety measures have been installed in the branch including a new hand sanitiser station, protective screens for our staff and signage on the floor to assist with physical distancing whilst queuing. Mandatory mask wearing is supported however you may be asked to temporarily remove your mask for identification if deemed necessary by our staff. We strongly support the State Government's requirement that any of our staff members exhibiting even the slightest of symptoms get tested and isolate until results are received and symptoms cease. With only a small team of staff there is a remote possibility that if this were to happen we may need to endure temporary closures - this would of course be a last resort and we would have alternative options available to those that would need banking services during that time. To read a full statement on our temporary closure contingency plan from our Branch Manager and Chairman please click here: https://mailchi.mp//2019-community-grants-information-sess

04.01.2022 http:// Win $250 for your favourite community project! // We're giving you the chance to vote for your favourite community project as part of our 2020 Community Grants program! The two community groups below have both applied to our Community Grants program, so first we'll tell you a little bit about each project and then you'll have the opportunity to vote for your favourite and the project with the most votes will receive $250 towards their project.... PROJECT 1 - Heathcote Tourism & Development with Heathcote Winegrowers Association // Welcome back to Heathcote project // HTD and the HWA has a track record of successfully delivering the two major events in the region, Heathcote on Show and the Wine & Food Festival. The project is to bring this expertise together to deliver a "Street Festival" incorporating all businesses and the community in welcoming visitors back to Heathcote in a post COVID-19 environment where the community and visitors can reconnect with the "Heathcote Experience". PROJECT 2 - Heathcote Fire Brigade // Station generator project // At present the Heathcote Fire Station is fully reliant upon direct power sources to operate the station, including all computers to effectively operate the Local Command Centre. In the event of a power failure, particularly during an emergency, the Local Command Centre becomes inoperative. This project is assessed as critical value to ensure operation of the Local Command Centre at all times, especially to provide support to Crews working during emergencies. Voting will close Monday 31st August at 5pm. Please note that this poll will not count towards the community group's grant application - grant applications will be assessed separately by our volunteer Board of Directors.
