25.01.2022 Thinking of making Breakfast-in-Bed for your lovely Mum, or planning on running a bath for the lady of the house? Here's some tips from the source (Mums) on what NOT to do! A few of our awesome mums from Melton campus just wanted to make it crystal clear how to deliver the perfect Mother's Day experience. After all, they definitely deserve it!!! Have a bit of fun and celebrate your Mum this Sunday. Get them a gift, cook them a meal, tidy up the house, just make sure ...you do it well! To all our Heathdale Mums, have a great Mother's Day, you are dearly loved! #mothersday

23.01.2022 The School Musical is a highlight of Heathdale's calendar It's more than just a production, it can change student's paths in life, helps students builds new skills, connects students and staff across the College, and delivers memories that last a lifetime. In 2021, we're putting on a production of The Sound of Music. Auditions are on in Term 3! Head to heathdale.vic.edu.au and download an audition pack.

23.01.2022 Since National Sorry Day, and for all of Reconciliation Week, we have been flying indigenous flags at both campuses. National Sorry Day acknowledges and raises awareness of the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families, communities and culture. National Reconciliation Week celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Austra...lians. Flying the Indigenous Flags on National Sorry Day and throughout National Reconciliation Week recognises the significance of these events for all Australians and is a sign of respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. #nrw2020 #inthistogether2020

23.01.2022 All thumbs up at our Melton campus! Second day back was a joy with all our Prep, 1 and 2 classes sharing what they missed about school on campus. More to come in the newsletter. #heathdale #itsgoodtobeback @ Heathdale Christian College - Melton

23.01.2022 A welcome sign for the start of the week. This morning, Mrs Kuipers who is one of our staff taking care of the Permitted Workers' children snapped a bunch of God's promise. Hoping you all have a blessed week.

20.01.2022 This team will be heading off soon on an outback adventure in Central Australia, where they’ll run fun program activities for youth in the area and get to see some of our incredible indigenous landmarks like Uluru. Safe travels, looking forward to the slide show! #heathdale #centralaustralia #schoolcamp

20.01.2022 Our students are preparing to Stand Up for Little Lives this September. And you can help! For a whole day, on the last day of term, students will be ditching their furniture for a great cause. The goal is to raise $4000 for the Rehoboth Children's Home in the Phillipines. Heathdale has had a longstanding relationship with Rehoboth, and our students have a great heart for the kids there, leading many initiatives to help out the organisation over the years. This year is no d...ifferent. Even though we can't visit, our students wanted to stand alongside the kids at Rehoboth. To join in, students can go to https://littlelives.raisely.com/ and sign up to the cause. If you want to sponsor a student, you can donate there too! We encourage you to give a little or a lot and help Rehoboth ensure these kids grow up in a safe place. Donate: https://littlelives.raisely.com/

19.01.2022 It's the Years 7-9 General Knowledge quiz this morning! Kahoot-style! Our quiz legends have been up for hours, digging out Trivial Pursuit, cruising Wikipedia and trawling through the Atlas to cram their brains full of knowledge and represent their house! This is Yeju, from Judson, our blue house. She's carefully colour-coordinated her surroundings (even her desktop) to get herself in the mood. Good luck Yeju!

19.01.2022 Everyone is back on campus at Melton. The Year 7s have been troopers, getting used to wearing their masks all day.

19.01.2022 Can you faceplant like Mr Deroon? Kick a ball over your neighbour's fence in style like Mr Abagia, or talk in a high-pitch voice like Mr Graham? Kick the COVID blues and join in our Staff Student PE Challenge and see how you fare! Take on Mrs Steane's catch challenge, verse Granny Loftis in the plank position, push up and hold along with Mr Trinh, soup up your footy skills with Mr Supek and more.... Just one of the many awesome videos our teaching staff are making to keep us all connected. Thanks!

19.01.2022 One of our amazing teachers, Jasmine Hill, wanted to help our Healthcare workers fight COVID. When she asked Western Health the organisation that runs the Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown hospitals what was needed. They said they were running low on scrubs. Jasmine and her friends got to work, assembling a volunteer crew of 200 people that included a number of community centres, secured a donation of 3000m of fabric from Spotlight, and went to work sewing 6000 scrubs! What an incredible effort. We're proud of you Jasmine! Read the full story below.

19.01.2022 Wow does it feel great to be back!! What a beautiful day to be back fresh on campus for our youngest and oldest students. While we don’t have everyone on campus just yet (that will be a wonderful day) it’s nice to see student’s faces in real life again! Thanks to all the parents who made pickup and drop off a breeze! #heathdale #heathdalecommunity #goodtobeback @ Heathdale Christian College

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 10 student, Mehtab Singh Hundal, who is officially a Melbourne University Young Scholar, having been accepted into the program named after former Vice-Chancellor KwongLeeDow. Picked out of 1500 applicants, over the next two years, Mehtab will be mentored through his VCE studies by University staff and guaranteed a place at Melbourne University if he meets certain criteria.

17.01.2022 Should we call those windows portholes or are they more like holey cheese? Some of our Preps got to experience their new classroom when they returned recently. They were pretty excited about the super cool, open space with tons of natural light coming through the windows and ... portholes?! Thanks to our amazing builders and facilities team for working so hard on it!

12.01.2022 Our College Good News story this week is thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Students and Staff as Heathdale Christian College were named the third highest school in the West for the 2019 Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 NAPLAN results. (Story is subscription - but click See More for details) Executive Principal Ross Grace: We are always proud of our students and how they continue to do well across many aspects of their learning. NAPLAN provides a snapshot of our students at a poin...t in time and we recognise that their learning is demonstrated in many ways beyond this. We believe our results are reflective of the core of our educational philosophy which is to provide deep and rich learning experiences for our students. Further to this, when combined with dedicated staff, supportive families and parents walking alongside our students, we are delighted that these reflect the yearlong learning that goes into each day here at Heathdale Christian College. We have always believed the best preparation for NAPLAN is an excellent teaching and learning program all year round. 10.01.2022 With our Year 12s finishing up tomorrow, we thought we’d reminisce with some of our past graduating classes. Recognize any of these 1990 alums?

08.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC Week! We recognise the First Custodians of the lands on Heathdale Christian College stands and where we live, work and learn. We acknowledge the peoples of the Kulin Nation as the TraditionalCustodiansof the lands on which our community is being built. We give thanks to our almighty creator God for their care and stewardship of this land, and pay our respect to their leaders, past, present and emerging, and for any Aboriginal people present in our Colleg...e community. We also pray for ongoing healing in damaged relationships between our indigenous brothers and sisters and all non-indigenous Australians, and seek God’s work of reconciliation in all our human relationships. This week, we will be flying the Australian Aboriginal flag as well as the Australian National flag at both campuses. This is in recognition of NAIDOC Week, which was postponed from its usual date in early July. NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society. It’s a time to acknowledge and celebrate that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact. The theme for this year’s NAIDOC weeks is ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’, in recognition that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. This week, we will journey together as a community in many forms of remembrance, and spend some time acknowledging the past, present and future of Australia’s First Peoples. See more

07.01.2022 The Year 1 morning routine at Werribee is more of a dance routine! Mrs Dent and Mr Whelan don’t mind starting off their day with a dance in their step either. #morningdanceroutine @ Heathdale Christian College

06.01.2022 Meeting of the minds. A couple of our freshly minted Primary Captains getting to work. Here they are getting the rundown on Funky Sock day from the College Captains (the girl captains were offsite, probably doing something awesome - we’ll catch them soon). More to come on Funky Sock Day soon. #heathdale #funkysocks #funkysockday

06.01.2022 It’s Funky Sock Day tomorrow (Friday the 13th)! Any students from Prep to 12 can wear their funkiest socks to school if they bring $2 to raise money for @worldbicyclerelief So get your funkiest socks out and help change someone’s life with some fresh wheels. #heathdale #funkysockday #funkysockdayatschool

05.01.2022 "Hilarious" is probably the best word to describe Colin Buchanan's Heathdale Father's Day performance. How would you describe it? When dads are just as chuffed as kids to get involved dancing around, you know it's a good time. We were blessed to have Colin beam into our Heathdale homes for this special event. If you missed it, we put together a little wrap up video to give you just a tiny glimpse into an hour of hilarity.

03.01.2022 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' isn't normally what you think about when signing up for VCE General Maths, but Mr. Trinh puts a cheeky 'Fresh Prince' spin on the subject. To help our Year 10 students navigate their way through the many VCE/VET and VCAL options we deliver at Heathdale, our teachers put together little videos to explain what their subject is all about and help the students choose the ones they feel passionate about. Remember kids, it's not about the money. It's about learning for life and having fun while you do it. #freshprince

02.01.2022 Colin Buchanan is coming to Heathdale for a special Father’s Day Live event this Wednesday, 7:45am. Make sure to grab your dad or significant person in your life and tune in using the email link sent out to all Primary families. Colin will be singing all his hits, and throwing in a fun quiz or two. See you then!

02.01.2022 Say hello to Ziva! Ziva is a 12-week old Labrador puppy, and Heathdale's first therapy dog. Isn't she cute! Our Principal of Secondary at Werribee, Deb Letcher and her family, are Ziva's proud new owners. Just like her fellow school friends, Ziva is doing her school online. Puppy school, that is. She's training with Therapy Animals Victoria via Zoom online conferencing. Hopefully Ziva passes all her classes, and will be able to spread joy and calm to students when we're all back together on campus. You can read about Ziva in the local paper via the link below.

01.01.2022 Usually our Preps would say goodbye to our Year 12s in person at the final assembly. This year, with physical distancing at play, they filmed a special video instead.
