12.01.2022 Many years ago I heard a radio interview of a journalist who as a young man had a one of his first assignments the job of interviewing Picasso. At the end of the interview the journalist bought a number of Picasso's works. Many many years later the journalist returns to interview the now very famous Pablo Picasso. He did the interview and again, at the end, he showed him the works he had bought all those years ago. Picasso looked at them and said " Pah! Those are fakes!"... "But " replied the journalist "I bought these from you the last time I was here!" Picasso replied casually " Oh I often paint fakes" See more

11.01.2022 Admin> Today sees unprecedented and tumultuous events in Australian Political history. To mark it, Im declaring this, the one and only open - and non-Keating ...related - quote. This is intended to open a place for you all to post comment (on the unfolding events within the Coalition only). The quote is a pertinent poem, sent to me by member, Edward Green. Not only is it enjoyable, but the last line is a killer. Mal stood on the burning deck, when all but he had fled A noose placed round the Leaders neck, by Pete Potato-Head The neocons were closing fast, on Wentworths favourite son Mals lack of spine and failures past, would now see him undone Stage right he saw the Mad Monk grin, revenge all oer his face Keen to plunge the dagger in, his proxy to take Mals place But as Mal stood so soon to fall, on the HMS Liberal-Doomed and once again a wreckers ball, went through the Party room He realised when bad polls happen, when the tides of fate are turning They tend to bucket the capn, when the ship is what is burning (with apologies to Felicia Hemans)
