25.01.2022 Both MEMRLTA and FTG mid week ladies competitions have been cancelled for this week and next. We will keep you updated about next term and when we will start back, closer to the time.

25.01.2022 Hi everyone, we've had clarification from our local council that social play is permitted but all tennis competition is suspended indefinitely at this time.

25.01.2022 We have until this Thursday to get as many people as possible to pre register for the pancake parlour fundraiser (see below post), so that we can get as many bonus points as possible and get our tennis club the $1200 sponsorship pack! Remember that you don't have to go to the pancake parlour before Thurs, you just have to nominate heatherdale tennis club as your nominated club. All the info is in the previous post.

25.01.2022 Heatherdale Tennis Club will remain closed as announced today by The Premier. The next review will be on the 18th October and we will advise members of any updates as they become known. Stay safe and we look forward to being able to welcome you all back. HTC Committee

25.01.2022 At the FTG Committee meeting this morning it was decided to suspend our competition for the next 2 matches due to the impact of the COVID- 19 Pandemic. This decision follows the lead of Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria. The Committee will be meeting again during the school holidays to reassess the situation and make a decision for the remainder of Season 1- 2020.... We understand this will be disappointing for many but feel our duty of care to the FTG&DLWTA community is most important.

21.01.2022 TO ALL HEATHDALE TENNIS CLUB MEMBERS: The announcement regarding COVID-19 Stage 4 restrictions which we all hoped wouldn't be necessary, has been made. In line with this, we have been notified by both the Whitehorse Council and Tennis Victoria that all tennis courts and clubrooms must be closed until further notice. There is to be no tennis of any kind at Heatherdale - hopefully for not more than 6 weeks but it is out of our hands. ... The gate code you all been using is no longer valid. A big disappointment for all. We hope you all stay warm, fit and well - we must all do our part in order to be able to return to some form of normality! You will be notified just as soon as we get word for "business as usual". The General Committee

19.01.2022 For our mid week ladies Thursday teams, it's another season over. Three of our four teams made it in to finals this season which is a fabulous result. Both our section 5 and section 2 teams made it to the semi finals but were unfortunately beaten, while our section 3 team made it all the way to the grandfinal but were unfortunately beaten by just 7 games. Congratulations to everyone on a great season and we look forward to doing just as well next season.

18.01.2022 Michael Sukkar met with members of Heatherdale Tennis Club to see their plans for the building of a viewing deck, and to announce a grant of $25,000 towards its construction. This grant is much appreciated as it will go towards the long-awaited upgrade to our facilities and allow members and visitors to enjoy and support tennis at our great sporting club. Grateful thanks also to Councillor Prue Cutts who represents Springfield Ward of Whitehorse. She has shown a great interest in our Club and provided much helpful information and guidance in recent times.

On the advice of the government and Tennis Victoria - Heatherdale Tennis Club will close tonight. Effective from 7 pm tonight:... - All tennis programmes and coaching are cancelled, including one-on-one coaching, until further notice - All club, association and social play is cancelled until further notice This means our club is no longer available for tennis, even for members having a hit with their own families. These measures may appear extreme but reflect the seriousness of the situation. We are all looking forward to returning to what we have taken for granted for so long, freedom to have a hit of tennis and enjoy each others company. 15.01.2022 Last night’s Junior Information Night for the Winter Season commenced with presentation of the Club’s Perpetual Awards for juniors. The very worthy recipients of the awards for 2019 are as follows: Grace Centofanti was named Most Improved Girl.... Sam DeVoil was presented with the Committee Award. Noah Low took out the Best First Year Player. Jacob Tran was named the Most Improved Boy. Rebecca Robertson was awarded the Best Club Player Girl; and Harrison Webb and Mitch Pontefract were joint winners of the Best Club Boy award.

14.01.2022 It was wonderful to visit Heatherdale Tennis club recently and to speak with Club Treasurer, Peter Clark, and Head of Maintenance, Jos Wolskamp about plans for ...a deck which will revitalise the whole club. Decks aren’t cheap so the Club is seeking a contribution of $25K from government sources. With the Federal election looming it would be great if Michael Sukkar MP - Member for Deakin and Shireen Morris for Deakin could look kindly on this important project. The Club is willing to match this contribution, and with $15K from Bendigo Bank, this will provide the necessary $65K. In the meantime, any contributions from other community groups would be welcomed, and I will do my part lobbying at Council. Our draft annual budget 2019/20 is out for public consultation at the moment, so it will be difficult to change for next year, however not impossible. There is opportunity to make a budget submission at [email protected] and submissions will be considered by all councillors. I am happy to visit again with my ward colleague Councillor Ben Stennett to look at this and further options.

How about checking the lost property cupboard at the clubrooms to find your missing items of clothing - there are plenty there belonging to children, ladies and men (mostly un-named) - also an assortment of hats and drink bottles. If you need access to the clubrooms during January call 0410 185 366. A lot of these items are really good quality and surely must be missed by their owners.

09.01.2022 The Junior finals for the Summer 2018-19 season have been run and done. The Boys 1 Green got over our Boys 1 Blue team in a nail biting match which came down to the last two doubles. Our Boys 2 team travelled to Nunawading and got pipped in a close one which also came down to the last two doubles.... The OR 2 team capped off a dominant season with a tough fought 2:1 victory in which they dropped their only rubber for the season, and our OR 5 team went down in a 1:2 battle v Upwey South, with both matches proving just how important the doubles match is in Rubbers. Well done to all players, parents and supporters for the season.
