25.01.2022 Children have had a busy Melbourne cup week. As did a certain Educator enjoying a homemade scone with jam and cream great way to start off the celebrations. We made our horses and decorated them for the big race at the park. We followed on the racing theme by having an egg and spoon race, children were so careful as not to drop their eggs. We also had a new resource - magnetic blocks which were investigated, craft activities were also popular as well as exploring the worl...d of dinosaurs at the park. Even when you sit on the head and go fishing for sharks apparently. To finish the week off children once again visited the aged care facility, the children are loving going to the centre, they are beginning to recognise the residents and are happy to engage with them. They show lots of respect for the elderly also by shaking hands with each of them to say goodbye till next time. See more

23.01.2022 Today we visited Jeanette's home where we explored textures through sensory play. Jeanette set up an activity with sand and shaving cream. We discussed the texture of the sand and the shaving cream. Then children got to mix the two together to make a type of kinetic sand. After the children appeared to have enough we extended the experience by adding trucks to the sand which was a big hit with a couple of the children. We also did texture painting using kitchen scrubbers to paint with. At home Owen was practicing his role modelling through having conversations between super hero figurines.

22.01.2022 Children have been busy making Christmas Cards for the elderly.
