25.01.2022 ALL NETBALL CANCELLED - COVID - 19 UPDATE Dear Clubs, Committee and Staff Following a meeting of Committee and Club representatives today, Saturday 14th March, the regrettable decision has been made to cancel all competitions and programs from today until the end of Term 1. This includes Friday night and Saturday Club Competition, Walking Netball competition and daytime sessions, Boys netball, Wednesday night Social Competition, Representative and emerging squad training.... This decision was based upon current advice and as more information comes to hand we will continue to monitor and update our responses. Further to this clubs have made a decision to cancel all club based training for the same period. We are proposing to recommence competition and programs from Tuesday 14th April subject to further advice on the situation. We also expect that all of members will be keeping themselves abreast of the current health updates from the Government and act accordingly. If you have had potential contact or tested positive to COVID-19 you should notify your club President to ensure that pro-active steps can be taken to protect the wider netball community. Any information of this kind will be treated with confidentiality. We would encourage clubs and their members to maintain regular contact through social media and other channels to support wellbeing and boost morale while we navigate these difficult times. Please also like the Melbourne East Netball facebook page to keep updated. We will take the time to process the detail in these announcements and provide further advice as soon as we can.

19.01.2022 MENA UPDATE Scoresheets During Semi-Finals and Finals A reminder of the process for scoresheets for finals as it is a little different than normal season. Please ensure this information is shared with all teams in the semi-finals as there may be new Coaches/Managers who have not been involved with the process in previous seasons. All coaches/managers should have checked eligibility of players they are expecting to play so there are no surprises on Saturday.... The process for scoresheets during finals is as follows: Only eligible players will be printed on the scoresheets i.e. players who have played 4 games or more Scoreboards will be put out on the table for Coaches/Team Managers to check at least 20 mins prior to game time to ensure the team is correct If your team has a player who does not appear on the scoresheet you must talk to the competition coordinators who will check their eligibility manually Once checked the scoreboard should be handed back to the competition coordinator Umpires will bring scoreboards out to the courts Both teams to provide a scorer Winning team to return scoresheet to office at completion of game Indoor Courts A reminder that the Home team is responsible for sweeping the indoor courts between games during semi-finals and finals. Please ensure this is done to minimise the dust on the courts for the players. The brooms will be available at the end of the courts. Critters in the Bush Please be aware that there have been signs of snake/s at the back of the stadium on the creek side. Please ensure that players and siblings that are playing around outside stay on the outdoor courts and surrounds rather than off in the bushes/long grass. This applies also to when teams are training here.

16.01.2022 To all of our families and players, please see attached an update from MENA around netball, we will have more updates after May 31. I hope you are all keeping well and safe, Al Kaleta President... Dear Clubs We hope you and your families are all well. It seems hard to believe it was only three weeks ago that we were meeting and working through options for when we might be back playing Netball. So much has happened for all of us since then it seems like far longer. We realise it is not only the players that are missing Netball but many of our Coaches, committees and parents also feel this way. With this in mind we have been quite busy in ensuring we are reaching out to all our players and Clubs to provide everyone with some options for staying active and engaged with netball. A big thank you to our Admin team, particularly Merryn Brien and our Representative Coaches for all their work with our Social media programs. We have pushed hard on these to try and provide as assortment of training, wellbeing and connection opportunities. Mindfulness Monday has been a great way to start each week, followed by a skill focus on Tuesday, a weekly challenge on Thursdays and Sharing is Caring Saturdays with some fabulous throwbacks already. If you havent had a look, please do and share with your Clubs, the more input the better as far as keeping our families connected to our Netball community. With the start of the Term next week, we are also launching back into weekly Rep training via zoom, we encourage all our Clubs to stay connected to their players and parents as much as they can. In regards to our competitions and when we might be able to recommence - inline with the discussions we had with Presidents at the end of term - we will be taking advice from our peak body Netball Victoria, plus Council regarding the use of the facility and the State and Federal Governments. As you are all aware under the current lockdown and Social Distancing provisions within Victoria we have no known date for our return. Our current advice from Netball Vic is: Netball Victoria recommends that all netball related programs including training and NetSetGO is suspended until May 31. Once again, this date will be reviewed continually, and we will update the Victorian netball community as soon as any further updates come to hand. Our current advice from Council is: As part of Maroondah City Councils planned response to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are extending the temporary closure of our stadiums: The Rings and Maroondah Nets The stadiums will remain closed until further notice. We will be having our regular committee meetings via zoom as we take this opportunity to look at our programs and competitions plus review a number of policies. Warm regards Kylie
