24.01.2022 Our nurses are so caring theyd give you the shirt off their back, or in Bears case, the sock off their foot! Brave Bear got a bit squashed by a much larger dog at the park causing his hip to dislocate. Dr. Katie replaced his hip under anaesthetic, and bound his leg to his body in a special bandage known as an Ehmer sling to prevent it from popping out again whilst it healed. Unfortunately our sling was no match for Bear and he repeatedly escaped it! It turned out the ea...siest solution was to get his little body into one of Nurse Jos socks! A week on his hip is doing great and his lovely mum dropped off a little thank you and some replacement socks for Jo Stay safe Bear! 12.01.2022 Happy to give Chip the all clear after spending nearly two full weeks in hospital, and undergoing multiple surgeries to repair wounds after a suspected dog attack. Chip experienced a punctured stomach, punctured diaphragm, gastric acid burns to his intestines, abdominal muscle hernia and multiple puncture wounds to his tummy, as well as severe infections. He needed several surgeries, a feeding tube and lots of TLC to get better. Luckily, Chips clever owner has pet insurance and he is all covered to get the very best of care! Donors need to be healthy dogs between 1-6 years, weigh over 25kg, be up to date with vaccinations and heartworm control, and never have received a transfusion themselves.
