23.01.2022 Good afternoon. Unfortunately due to volunteers being unwell we are unable to open the canteen tomorrow. The school will now be running Year 6 fundraisers on a Friday. This week we are selling pikelets (2 for 50 cents).

23.01.2022 The children from Jesmond Community Pre-School joined us for assembly today and delivered the Acknowledgment of Country. We are lucky to have such outstanding links with our community.

22.01.2022 Today Kindergarten celebrated 100 days of coming to school at Heaton. '100 Days Brighter'. The children have been participating in lots of fun activities based around 100. We know it has been a year Kindergarten parents will never forget but we are so proud of how far your children have come.

22.01.2022 This young man has only lived in Australia since April and he is already writing poetry to his mother in English.

21.01.2022 Good afternoon. We are in the process of developing a new play area similar to the pictures below. This will complement our new nature playground that is under proposal and is being designed by our student parliament. If you have any old trucks, cars, diggers or toy dinosaurs you no longer need and would like to donate them to the school, this would be greatly appreciated. 21.01.2022 Stage 2 working on their basketball skills with our coaches from L.A. and Atlanta. They are here working with our local Newcastle Basketball team. We're very lucky to be connected with people from around the world.

09.01.2022 This morning our students leaders held focus groups with our class elected student parliamentarians. They gathered information from the group to help inform us of what our students want to see in our school for our new school plan. The students identified that they really value one-on-one student conferencing with their teachers and saw the value in our 'Ready to Learn' initiative across the school because it helps students focus on their learning. Our leaders did an exceptional job. #StudentVoice

Students with flu like symptoms must not attend school and students will be sent home if flu like symptoms are observed at school. Unfortunately, this will mean that only invited guests will be able to attend. 01.01.2022 Congratulations to all our awards winners. KF has the best attendance rate at 97.5%. School attendance was over 93% this week. We have been as high as 96% this term and have set a school wide goal with the students to aim for 97%. Have a fantastic weekend. Mr Hilton
