19.01.2022 Heat Tech Karratha team have just arrived back from another successful 2 week stint in the Pilbara. This time completing PWHT on 9 sets of sole plates on the FMG Eliwana Project. Job well done! Another happy client! :)

19.01.2022 Heat Tech Australia were approached to initially give consultation on the ability to assist their client Black Products Engineering, with the installation of a Shaft to Bogey Wheel assembly with 0.75 interference. After discussion on the available methods, it was preferred to Heat the Bogey wheel utilising Heat Techs Miller Pro Heat induction unit to expand the hub for shaft assembly. As a further step, a Cryogenic application to the Shaft was decided. This was to be achieved... by placing the shaft component into a Liquid Nitrogen Bath in order to shrink the component. 12.01.2022 Heat Tech would like to announce that we have our new 10.4m x 4.3m x 3.5m high Gas fired furnace operational. Using the latest LPG burner control system for precise heating cycles. Our furnace can be used for PWHT, normalizing and annealing, with a solid refractory base eliminating any component distortion during the heating cycle. 06.01.2022 Cracker Dome weld! When it comes to Induction heating Specialists, Heat Tech recently successfully undertook the largest job to date in Australia with their induction Heating Machines. Utilising 12 x Miller Pro units, our team successfully conducted Pre and Post Heat Treatment on Viva Refinery’s Reactor Dome. The vessel was 5 meters in diameter, a wall thickness of 32mm with 15.5m of weld.... A series of 24 heating pads were designed and manufactured by Heat Tech for the project. The Pre Heat temperature of 200 degrees Celsius was maintained throughout the welding process and a peak temperature of 710C achieved for the PWHT activities. The client’s number one concern was the safety of the method being used for all involved in the project. The end result was a successful completion of the Welding and Heat Treatment with no injuries and an on time completion.

Another successful job done by our site technicians :) Solution annealing was used on these bull tees to overcome the build up of Niobium Silicides at the grain boundary, allowing for a successful weld repair....
