18.01.2022 The 2019 Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta is done and dusted. The regatta proved to be a very challenging time for competitors, particularly those doing the overnight races with 30 knts + experienced in the early hours of Sunday morning. Many competitors experienced gear failure. Not only did he take out Line Honours for the One Lap Dash, but Andrew Lim on a Moth - Out Of The Blue, also took out the Overall Handicap position and Division 1 Handicap. More importantly, ...Andrew broke Nathan Outteridge's 2013 record for the One Lap dash completing the circuit in 2h 11m 20s - a shade under 3 minutes better than Nathan's record. Other major placings were: One Lap Dash Division 2 - Tanami Division 3 (Multi Hull) - Foxy Fundraisers (Bribe and Corruption) One Lap Dash - Wallop. 12 Hour Division 1 - Tasha Division 2 - Fantastique 24 Hour Line Honours - Tasha Division 1 - Tasha Division 2 - Fantastique Full race results can be viewed on the RMYC Toronto website under Race Results - http://www.raceresults.rmyctoronto.com.au//hcw2019index.htm. 18.01.2022 Hi everybody, HCW 2020 is now done and dusted and I am pleased to say the weather was kind to us, we didn't loose anybody, I think almost - if not all competitors enjoyed themselves and we got the One Lap Dash results up on the net almost the minute the last boat crossed the line. Many thanks to the many people on the HCW organising team that made it all possible. All the race results are now posted on the website - go to http://www.raceresults.rmyctoronto.com.au//HCW/seri...es.htm. We are still reconciling the money side of things and whilst I think the amount we hand over to the Hunter Branch of Cancer Council NSW and Lake Macquarie Marine Rescue will be less than last year - due to the number of Bushfire and Drought appeals soaking up much of the available charity funds, I expect it to be very favourable. There are always many highlights in an event such as Heaven Can Wait, but one that I do want to mention is about a J24 called Blown Away competing in the Short One Lap Dash. Blown Away had an all women crew - skippered by Rhonda Haydon and crewed by Kath and daughter Kristen. They came 3rd on handicap. To my knowledge, this is the first time we have had an all girl crew competing in the HCW Regatta and I hope it serves as encouragement for more all women crews to do the same. Rhonda says 'she will give the guys a run for the money next year' and I hope she does. Attached is a photo of the Blown Away crew after receiving their 3rd place medal at the RMYC Toronto. See more

05.01.2022 We are still reconciling the numbers from the 2019 Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta and we know they will be down on 2018. We are however, expecting to finish up with about $40,000 going to the charities. Much of the available charity funding over the past year has been directed toward drought relief and that has had an impact on our fundraising activities. The weather for the regatta resulted in a few boats backing out of the regatta and that also had an impact on fundraising activities.
04.01.2022 Hi all and apologies for not posting earlier. We will be handing over proceed cheques to the Hunter Branch of Cancer Council NSW and Lake Macquarie Marine Rescue, on May 1. A total of $40,000 will be handed over. Heaven Can Wait 2020 will run over the weekend of February 22-23. Hope to see you all there.
