19.01.2022 Noise Box Fill a paddling pool, large cardboard box, open suitcase (anything you have) with safe items that make a noise. I like to use newspaper, bubble wrap, plastic bottles and even ball pit balls. Scatter feed into the noise box and let your puppy or adult dog explore and eat at their own pace (remember, the food you scatter is just another fun way for them to eat their dinner). Start with just a few items and add more noisy items as dog’s confidence grows. This game help...s build your dog's confidence and optimism. It also desensitises your dog to noise and unpredictable events. Best of all, your dog will love it! . . . . #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #heelinghoundsdogtraining #dogtraner #gametrainer #confidence #optimism See more

12.01.2022 Rescuing a dog is a wonderful experience but give your new dog time to adjust to their new environment. The early weeks and months can be quite a dramatic time for your dog. Be patient and play games with them to help them adjust. #dogtrainer #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #heelinghoundsdogtraining #rescuedogs #patience

11.01.2022 Just because it's cold outside and you're in lockdown doesn't mean you can't continue to train your dog. Dog training games are the best way to teach your dog new concepts and help reshape their brains to prevent and change naughty behaviours. So to help you become motivated and make the most of this time I have a wonderful giveaway of the DVD entitled | . This DVD gives you the tools to create a dog that sees you ...as the best thing in the environment and chooses to be with you when off their leash. So what's the catch? Well, I expect you to work for it! To be in the running to win this DVD you need to film your dog playing one of the games in my downloadable training games booklet and share it on the Heeling Hounds Facebook page and tag it #heelinghoundsgiveaway. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6djifpola4v/Training%20Games.pdf

10.01.2022 The science is in positive training methods are more efficient and give better results than more aversive techniques including e-collars. Warning this report contains science and nerd talk!

10.01.2022 Contrafreeloading is a behaviour observed in dogs and other animals when offered a choice between freely served food or food that requires some effort to obtain, the dog prefers the food that requires effort. This is great way to train your dog, so ditch the bowl and your dog work (and learn) for their dinner. BTW the only animal that this technique doesn't work for is the domestic cat they prefer to be served (anyone who owns a cat will know this)! #contrafreeloading #HeelingHoundsDogTraining #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice #ditchthebowl

08.01.2022 The new State Government COVID-19 restrictions take effect from Wednesday, 8 July at 11:59 pm. On advice from Business Victoria and the Department of Health and Human Services, I will not be conducting any dog training session in person during the lockdown period. This decision is not made lightly, but I have to be mindful of the health of my family and yours, my clients. I will still be offering personal training sessions through online channels. T...his will be a completely new experience but I think it worth pursuing to ensure that you and your dogs are looked after during this time. I will be contacting all pre-booked clients personally and discussing their training options and ways to move forward during this time. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me about your dog training issues. I'm here to help you and your dog succeed and have fun! Stay healthy and safe,

So Tom, how much is this course going to cost me? Heeling Hounds understands that the COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world upside down, and many dog owners have missed out on being able to see a dog trainer or go to puppy school. With that in mind, Absolute Dogs and I can offer you access to this 25-day course for the one-off price of AUD$60. The course comes complete with training notes, over 25 video tutorials using untrained dogs and a completion certificate at the end of your journey. If I were to give you these lessons face-to-face, you would pay ten times the amount. Sidney and I have completed this course, and I can tell you it is fantastic and so much fun. A new game is opened up each day, but if you cannot watch it or are still mastering the previous lesson don’t fret. You have access to all the videos forever, so there is no rush. It also means you can review past videos to refresh your memory. If you are interested in purchasing this online course, please message me for further details. This is an offer not to be missed.
