24.01.2022 As a spectrum of vibrant colour, the Steiner rainbow has considerable physical presence in space, unlike the natural phenomenon it recalls. Rainbows are cultural symbols often associated with alternative political movements, signifying utopian ideals and a desire to do things differently.

22.01.2022 Our children’s clothing swap is ready to go, starting tomorrow, Monday 26th October. Please feel free to share Families in our community may go through the clothing and take anything that catches your eye (please do not take home hangers), or bring any children’s clothing size 0-5 from home that is no longer needed, to leave for someone else. ... By donating old clothes instead of throwing them away, we are reducing landfill, teaching our children about different ways of recycling and giving back to the community. By reusing clothing, we can reduce some of the pollution caused by many clothing manufacturers and save money. We will leave the clothing stand outside in the car park or entrance area if the weather is suitable and we welcome you to come an have a look. We’ve added some things from our overflowing spare clothing stash to make a start. Please make sure you have clean hands when handling clothing, hand sanitiser is available for use on the foyer bench. We recommend washing clothing before donating and after taking new items home.

21.01.2022 Spring is here and we are enjoying the mild, warm weather! I hope everyone at home gets a chance to head outdoors and soak up the sunlight today

21.01.2022 Hot cross buns! Hot cross buns! One a penny two a penny Hot cross buns! When children play with play dough it helps to improve fine motor skills which is beneficial to daily activities. Using play dough is a calming activity. Children work their stress out through their hands, so play dough is not only loads of fun, but can be another useful way to help your children to release stress. Happy Easter everyone!

20.01.2022 Children need to be active throughout the day. By promoting outdoor play we enable them to get fresh air and explore their environment. Hands-on learning, the natural environment and loose parts in our outdoor areas stimulate children’s senses through what they hear, touch, see and feel.

20.01.2022 The way we speak to our children matters

17.01.2022 Wishing our first sunflower sprout the best of luck Our toddlers, with the assistance of our kinder children are really trying to care for the plants in their newly built garden bed and most importantly - not trample on the tiny seedlings. Keep your fingers crossed and we might have some big beautiful sunflowers soon

17.01.2022 HOME LEARNING We are preparing to send out our second home learning packages. If your child is part of our kindergarten class (children aged 3 up), is staying home during stage 4 lockdown and did NOT receive the first package please send us an email or message with your confirmed postal address.

17.01.2022 Some days, we set out a new experience and every child rushes over to get into it... other times one child has the freedom to explore each piece of clay whilst sitting on each chair at the table for a few moments at a time, before moving to the next without any interruption

17.01.2022 Sometimes inspiration comes from a single ray of sunshine

13.01.2022 The souls of some people shine so bright that even their shadows bathe us in light-Shakieb Orgunwall

10.01.2022 Fairies in the toddler room & musicians in the kinder. A beautiful way to spend a Friday.

09.01.2022 All children take absolute delight in exploring their world through their senses. Sensory play builds cognitive skills and influences how your child learns about their world.

09.01.2022 No brushes today. By working with natural objects, children are exploring different textures, shapes and colors, all while building fine-motor skills. At the same time, painting with different itemssuch as a twig and a leafgives the children an introduction to the scientific concept of cause and effect.

08.01.2022 9 Benefits of playing with clay 1. Manipulating clay helps toddlers and preschoolers to develop their hand and eye co-ordination as they pound, pat and push the clay into shapes and objects. 2. Clay also helps toddlers and preschoolers develop the small muscles in their fingers and hands, known as fine motor skills, as they pinch, squeeze and prod the clay, adding detail to the shape or object.... 3. Through this manipulation, toddlers and preschoolers can express their thoughts and ideas as they mould the clay to take on the form of their imagination. 4. Toddlers and preschoolers can experiment with literacy and numeracy concepts as they use clay to create letter, number and shape formations. 5. Facilitating toddlers and preschoolers to create their own name, their age, street address, or the names of people in their family makes learning meaningful. 6. Clay can also be used to visually represent your toddler's or preschooler's culture as it is molded to represent meaningful symbols and patterns. 7. You can support your toddler or preschooler with clay play by providing an unhurried, spacious environment so that time can be spent developing and revisiting their work. 8. Regular access to clay provides toddlers and preschoolers with opportunities to build on their knowledge, verbalize their thoughts and ideas, and add detail to their work. 9. Skills toddles and preschoolers develop when playing with clay include imagination, perseverance, problem solving, teamwork, social interaction and self- regulation.
