25.01.2022 Today the senior club start their season at home against Hurstbridge. With a strong connection and pathway from junior to seniors, we are excited for the following boys who debut in the senior team today. All three started their football journey in Tackers at the club. Congratulations to Josh Daniel, most outstanding junior 2017, junior club playing life member in 2018, U19/s premiership player 2018. Congratulations to Matt McInerney selected and played Northern Nights, mos...t outstanding junior 2019, junior club playing life member in 2019, U/19s premiership player 2018. Congratulations to Ben Nikolovski selected and played with Northern Knights in 2018 and 2019 We wish you all the best today. The U/19s start at 9;40am , reserves game from 11:50am and seniors game kicks off at 2:10pm Hope to see our juniors and families their today supporting the boys. Go Bergs!

25.01.2022 JUNIOR UPDATE Morning all, So, we've officially been given the green light! The junior season can commence and there'll be no further delays.... I just wanted to provide an overall update on how we're tracking/what we're still waiting on: - Gradings have been submitted to the DVCA which they're currently working through. Once these are finalised, we'll be notified on fixturing as well. - Our COVID-19 plan has been submitted to the Banyule City Council, as has all of our QR code documentation, largely thanks to the great work done by Roger Golland over the weekend. We're now waiting on the council's response which we should receive soon. - We will kickstart training as of next week. Typically as I've mentioned in my last email, U10s and U12s would be on Mondays from 4:30pm onwards, U14s and U16s on Thursdays from 4:30pm onwards, and U18s with seniors. However, given Cup Day next Tuesday, U10s and U12s next week will be on Wednesday. For clarity, this will only be for next week. - Playing shirts and caps are on track to arrive prior to the season, (11/11 for U10s and U12s white, 13/11 for the rest). For those who ordered black training shirts, they're also on their way. Please pass this onto any parent(s) that aren't in this thread. Given the nature of the situation, we're having to work a lot of these things out on the fly and there's a power of work being done behind the scenes, as is the case with all clubs. Our season will commence in April (Friday nights) and run until mid August (exact dates to be confirmed). The Auskick program not only aims to teach our children the physical skills of AFL but also teamwork, communication, decision-making, problem solving and most of all confidence. Our Auskickers are the Club’s future and the HJFC endeavours to be the best club for every player that represents the Yellow and Black.
