24.01.2022 Victoria’s minister for Mental Health James Merlino has been in the job since October last year. He has made zero effort to connect with Victorian mental health advocates, having little to no correspondence with us. Now he moves on to acting Premier. So now we have NOBODY managing the state of mental health in Victoria. This is disgusting considering the recent Final Report into our mental health system has 65 recommendations awaiting ministerial action. We are going backwards.

23.01.2022 This week I was very honoured to speak at Global Alliance of Mental Health Advocates and Silver Ribbon Singapore. What a privilege. https://m.facebook.com/groups/21192994776?view=permalink&id=10158801732079777¬if_t=tagged_with_story¬if_id=1600159533259527&ref=m_notif

19.01.2022 Great day in the sun filming with Jess Cochran and Rachel Edward for Qualia short film

19.01.2022 VicHealth. Be ashamed. Be very, very ashamed. People with disability, including mental health, should never be referred to as a burden - United Nations Convention of the Rights of Disabled People 2018. Verified by every disability advocate in every country. Yet this is what I received from VicHealth today in my inbox:... "The burden of mental ill-health in Victoria is significant" and "According to recent burden of disease studies, at least 21% of the burden of disability and premature death associated with mental health conditions is preventable and it is thought that the actual proportion of the burden that can be averted is much higher." Is this how you want to think of yourself?

08.01.2022 My memoir My Friend Fox has been picked up by publisher Ultimo Press! I'm over the moon with pride and joy!! My Friend Fox has been eight years in the making, with literary support and writerly love from Writers Victoria Write-ability and Publishability fellowships (shout out to my A Team Fiona Tuomy, Lyndel Caffrey and Jax Jacki Brown). My Friend Fox will be available in all book stores from September, but you can pre-order now on Booktopia. My Friend Fox is about finding y...our place in the world, when the world doesn't really want, or understand you. It's a story about psych wards and the mental health system, told in a way that will give space to joy, strength and hope in your spirit. My little black and white illustrations accompany the story, hand-drawn photographs of moments I knew I had to remember along the way. A little mention of soul deep appreciation: to Tigger (RIP my dear friend), Graeme (RIP), my family, Phil H, Virginia and Helen who knew me and Tigger, and who still love me beyond, and maybe because of, the fox. It's because of you, I'm here to write this book. And thankyou to Rohan for showing me stars in the heart are reachable.. with a little push. https://youtu.be/1cluUX1mUEI

08.01.2022 Do you have a companion animal that travelled with you through times of difficult mental health? Animo is seeking artworks for an exhibition in Melbourne soon. Contact schizyinc(at)gmail(.)com https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au//animo-schizy-inc-exhibit

07.01.2022 Mindful language in Zoom. Instead of asking: 'Can you hear me?' and 'I can't hear you' Try 'There's no sound'... Instead of 'You're mute' Try 'Your mic is on/off' Instead of 'I can't see you' and 'Can you see me?' Try 'There's no image of you/me' Instead of 'You're too small/big' Try 'Come closer/move back from the screen' Instead of 'I hate Zoom' Try 'Now I understand what it's like to feel disabled, deaf and socially isolated'
