17.01.2022 With the change in weather occurring daily I ask if your children are showing any symptoms or signs of the cold or flu I ask could you please keep home. This will just help stop the spread of any germs within our fdc environment and protect one another from becoming sick. I really appreciate your co-operation.

16.01.2022 Today we had a visit from Janelle the Educational Leader from the Cassowary Coast Family Daycare Scheme. The children thoroughly enjoyed interacting with her whilst she read a book which was called " My body". This has been the intentional teaching for the week. Having the children look and learn about their bodies. Was a lovely visit and can't wait for next time.

15.01.2022 Last week was short days for the children and I though I was still able to get in some Intentional teaching. We focussed on bodies and senses this week which extended off a group conversation the week before when the children asked, What are bones? Aswell as looking at our different body parts we have started looking at our 5 senses aswell.

07.01.2022 Over the last few weeks I have been trying a new program called Kinderloop. It's is a great tool to help myself as a educator share photos and observations on your child's development, to display my programming and ideas on a daily basis and to help link all areas that are essential for a educator to make sure we are meeting all children's needs. It also means we are becoming more sustainable which helps the environment. I will be sending emails out soon so please download the App. If you have any questions please just ask.

07.01.2022 So this week is National Science Week so we incorporated some science into our theme of insects and bugs. We looked at static electricity using a balloon to lift the butterfly wings. We used force blowing through a straw to move our creeping catepillars. We also looked at creating colours which extended off a group observation. Using frozen ice cubes and paper towel to creep the colours into one another. Aswell as our science we looked at the letter A and S for ants and snails and today we looked at wringly worms with the children creating a wormery. The children decided to take these home as well as connecting them to the world through this experience they also now have to take responsibility to look after their worms. Was wonderful experience.
