25.01.2022 Working on my online painting tutorial again this week, I'm mid way through the second toadstool cap, a subject thats all about working in rich colour, texture and layers in the watercolour medium. Delicious! Here I'm refining the last layers in my mid tones before shifting into my darks. For those asking, you can learn more about my online painting tutorials in the Classroom Tab of my website https://heidiwillis.com.au/classroom/

24.01.2022 A little look at the blossom studies side by side... I cant wait to see how this collection evolves in stage two of this project. Its in progress now too :) Thanks everyone!

I love his side pose showing off those incredible colours, a magical bird indeed. Thanks @cadman1963 for the original inspiration on this study

22.01.2022 This week I've begun working on two branches of pink blossom flowers, welcoming in the spring. This is the first stage of the painting process. Ultimately they will accompany my wren illustrations from last week in a gorgeous range of homewares for my client... I'm loving this project of course

21.01.2022 A little revisit to my Himalayas field drawings today, thought id share a few graphite studies with you as I work on other things for a bit. The first is a Rhododendron, white, always with an adventure and a story to be told behind the drawing. So many beautiful memories are in these sketches :) Happy Monday everyone!
20.01.2022 The second in my fly agaric toadstool illustration series displays a gorgeous raging red and orange cap with its wonderful telltale white spots scattered across it's surface. It's a fantastic painting exercise, especially in watercolour and it will be available soon in my newest online painting course https://heidiwillis.com.au/classroom/
