25.01.2022 During these crazy times I’ve found myself using the new lathe more and more. Mostly just to have fun and play around with new ideas and shapes. I’m hoping to produce a bunch of small ‘one of a kind’ pieces in this time. This little walnut lamp is the first! It reminds me of something out of a Pixar movie, anyone else see it?

17.01.2022 I’m very happy to say the workshop is back in action! I managed to finalise the design this week for the Atlas Lamp, and it’s now live on the website and available for purchase. 07.01.2022 Heimur is still open for business! A huge thank you for all the ongoing support we’ve had so far. The kindness we’ve received from clients, friends and family has been so heart warming. It’s a very scary time for us and with the future being uncertain, we’re taking every measure we can to stay safe, positive and keeping Heimur alive. . We’ve cut back our hours, with just the two of us in the workshop. Our regular day-to-day adheres pretty closely to the social distancing requ...irements but we’re taking extra measures to ensure the safety of everyone. Digital consultations, contactless pickup/drop offs and respecting the 1.5m distance. . We understand everyone is feeling the hardship of this together. We want to support the community that supports us. If you’re after a product or service we provide but can’t quite afford it, there is always a way we can work towards meeting your budget. 07.01.2022 Introducing the Atlas Lamp. Made from matt opal glass and walnut.

05.01.2022 Another at home iso design. A much needed side table to go over the couch armrest at home. It’s nice to spend time just designing and creating. Not focusing on efficiency or developing each piece for repetition. Another rewarding part of the design process is the limited tools I have on hand. Just a lathe, a few handsaws and some chisels. @ Kyneton, Victoria

03.01.2022 Custom Project from the past. This shelving/divider unit is a particular favourite of mine for the @ryder_label store in Cremorne. It took a lot of sketching hours to be happy with the final design, and looking back I’m really proud of how it turned out. The first project we ever used cane with too. Made out of Australian messmate, rattan and brass detailing. The inner shelves are adjustable and the whole unit flatpacks for easy install/transport.

02.01.2022 We’ve had to pause manufacturing for the duration of the Victorian stage 4 restrictions following the DHHS guidelines. We’re trusting that these new drastic measures provide a safer, functioning climate for us all to return to. In the meantime, we’re still operating behind the scenes on all administrative, sales and design aspects of Heimur. I’ve bought a few tools home with me so I can play around with new designs and forms. This is the results from week one. What do you think of these salt + pepper grinders?
